The press got five of the six episodes yesterday; embargo lifts Thursday.September 1, 2020 at 5:33 pm #1203681057This will be on the Toronto Film Festival. I think it will be really good.

September 1, 2020 at 6:13 pm #1203681113It being screened at the Toronto Film Festival might suggest it is good but it doesn’t mean it automatically will get awards buzz. After all The Eddy screened at Berlin and that flopped and Stateless screened at Berlin and even the awards chances of that seem unclear.

September 17, 2020 at 2:21 pm #1203713617I’ve seen the first episode. This is truly the kind of a show that you need to see the complete season before judge it, still a decent intro but not outstanding.

September 24, 2020 at 2:17 pm #1203732339It’s not the kind of show that I usually would like.
It’s too slow paced, but – strangely- I’m hooked on it.
The sript is good.
Jude Law is amazing on this. Katherine Waterston too. Also this show will have a special episode called “Autumn” that will be a one-off live event in London after the summer section of the show has been broadcast. It was described by the producers of the show as a “major immersive theatre event” and the live segment of the show will air in one continuous take during 12 hours.

That’s amazing. I don’t know if I’m going to see the whole thing, but I’m fascinated by the idea is so inovative.October 4, 2020 at 10:46 pm #1203760305Watched the first three episodes. Jude Law is great, but, it fell flat for some reason. It kinda just hit all the expected notes of the backwoods cult story. I know I haven’t seen the whole series, but I’m pretty confident saying Midsommar was a far better take on a similar premise.

It was broadcast on Facebook and twelve hours long.

October 25, 2020 at 10:50 am #1203801594I enjoyed the show. It wasn’t anything new but very atmospheric and great performances from Law, Harris, Waterston, Watson and Considine. There were a few unexpected comedic moments too which brought the tone down. The live episode edit (Autumn) was for me the best episode, (despite Florence Welch’s caterwauling), without a script and narrator it worked really well as we were forced to witness the ritual in first person. I think the MVP might be Waterston, which I wasn’t expecting. Wouldn’t mind her popping up in supporting somewhere.

But in the first part Waterson is clearly the MVP.October 29, 2020 at 7:21 am #1203809160This was such a disappointment! Total waste of time. Literally nothing happened throughout the whole story.
