I honestly think the whole cast this timeout is just doing amazing, detailed work. Like every single one of them is so utterly believable and grounded. I’m surprised anyone is even able to rank

Since the trip to Noto in episode 3, Fahy has bought this sinister layer to Daphne that’s subtle, yet terrifying, and I find it so compelling. Plaza is on par with Fahy, imo. They’re the seasons standouts.

The entire ensemble has had their moments though. I wasn’t feeling Coolidge this time around, but she was great in this week’s episode. The addition of Hollander’s character has done wonders in making her storyline actually interesting to watch. All of the Italian actresses are great finds too.

Top three are Plaza, Tabasco, and Coolidge. Plaza has the tapes to compete with ANY current lead actress drama contender, Tabasco is a breakthrough revelation, and to the Coolidge haters, I’d say that she’s more than earned her standing in these last episodes. The guys have all had strong moments, but none of them have reached the heights that Bartlett and Lacy did at this point in their respective season. James and Sharpe could get there, and I hope that they will. Bottom three are Richardson, Impacciatore, and Grannò. They’ll hopefully get more fleshed-out material in the final two episodes.

Coolidge is in automatic Pilot showing not new things and layers to her character. For Globes purposes, she may be shut out, but for repetitive and boring Emmys, she is in.
Plaza character has many layers and is very showy and watchable . The problem with Fahy that is a very subtle performance and doesn’t have many scenes to shine, but she is effective when is on screen.
There are by far more compelling women than Fahy this year: Plaza, Tabasco, James, Seehorn, Debicki, Staunton , Morton, Seyfried. But she is good.

I agree that Tabasco is a revelation, she deserves an Emmy nomination and she’ll probably get it.

If there was an Emmy for best performances in a sub-plot Aubrey Plaza, Will Sharpe, Theo James and Meghann Fahy should win it. They’re just so compelling in these roles, their performances so lived in that at times you feel like they’ve gone method and I just think it’s astounding how much they just ran away with the arcs given to them. I felt SO tense watching that scene this week where Harper asks Ethan and Cam whether they’ve had an orgy and that scene with Fahy and Plaza at the end of the episode was a SERIES best moment.

FYC: Better Call Saul, The English and The Good Fight in all categories including Emily Blunt, Bob Odenkirk, Christine Baranski and Rhea Seehorn.

I love how in all those group scenes there’s rarely ever actually anything dramatic happening or being talked about but those 4 actors just keep everything so TENSE that they’re somehow the most exciting scenes every episode.

Exactly. Like when Cam finds out that Ethan told Harper about what happened in her night away and the energy both actors brings feels so tense that you think something dramatic is going to happen but then it doesn’t. With all four of the actors in the quartet you really get a strong sense of what is going on in their characters’ heads even when it’s not neccessarily written on paper.

Tabasco is actually giving me potential future Bond Girl. She reminds me a bit of Ana De Armas/Penelope Cruz

She is sexy and talented ,so she could be , why not ?!
I hope she get an Emmy nomination , she is better than Coolidge and the much overrated Fahy.

Surprised no one on the internet’s made a meme yet of Jennifer Coolidge saying “these are high end gays”.

I’m really enjoying this season, especially the scenes with Plaza, James, Sharpe and Fahy. Plaza is fantastic, and Simona Tabasco is mesmerizing. I hope she gets plenty of opportunities in the future. I’m looking forward to seeing how the situation with Tanya and Greg unfolds.

    Episode Title: “Abductions”

Synopsis: After admitting their marriage needs work, Ethan grows suspicious of Harper and Cameron; as they look forward to a lavish party at Quentin’s Palermo estate, Tanya gives Portia an opaque warning about Jack; the Di Grassos head out in search of distant Sicilian relatives, but Dominic bristles when Albie invites Lucia along as their translator.

    Discuss.
