Premieres September 22nd on ABC. Three positive reviews on MC so far: two 80’s from THR and Variety and a 75 from TV Line.

It's about the chaotic editing in Moulin Rouge!

I wonder if this could become the token network comedy series nominee once Black-ish finishes.

Gosh I’m nostalgic for the original. Nostalgia inception.

Bill Hader and Barry in everything (2 babka)
The Great - Elle Fanning, Nicholas Hoult and comedy writing and directing

Severance in drama series, writing, Adam Scott for best actor, Ben Stiller for drama directing, and the whole cast in supporting.

I think it’s quite likely. I think if they were ready to let go of network they wouldn’t be still leaning so hard in to SNL. I think comedy is the category they’re most resistant to change in.

Three more reviews on MC. All positive, including an 80 from The New York Times. It’s sitting now at 76.

    Very charming and sweet beggining
If it were a weak year, this could totally sneak in at the Emmys.

Don Cheadle is probably happening in Narrator tho.

    FYC:

All things Succession, Severance, Ted Lasso, The Great and The White Lotus! Also, Colin Firth and Janelle James while you're at it.

So I watched the first episode and fell asleep so had to rewatch and it is just ok. The second one was better. My grades: B and B+

I am really enjoying this show, but I do love good nostalgia shows/movies anyway. It deftly balances the innocence of youth with the awareness of what it meant to be black in the south in the 60s.

This week’s episode, if there was Emmy justice, would earn an Emmy nomination as Granddaddy Clisby. Unfortunately, he’s not an SNL guest host, so an excellent performance will go unrewarded.
