Poor Miguel. I knew that was coming with the not-so-subtle writing and the need to finish Rebecca’s narrative, but it still hit like a ton of bricks. Nice showcase for Jon Huertas that was long overdue. Things are gonna get real now.

that’s not the season finale.two episodes left? maybe three
ReplyCopy URLMay 4, 2022 at 10:42 am #1204941874The episode was heartbreaking and much needed to inform Miguel’s relationship with Rebecca, and more specifically the Pearson clan. Huertas was the best he has been on the show and his scene with the Big 3 was outstanding, not to mention all of the wonderful little moments he shared with Moore. I understand his character has always been polarizing but I do wish he would have been better integrated throughout the series.
Next week seems to be intense as we have Randal vs. Kevin pt. 2, and that will be interesting as to how Kate navigates her responsibilities to her mother and brothers. I’m hoping things do NOT get nasty between the siblings again, especially with their mother being so vulnerable. Three episodes are left and I am hoping the show sticks the landing. Moore has been impressive in exploring Rebecca’s journey and I want her to get at least one more showcase. She has shined in her intimate, smaller moments but I want her get a proper sendoff.

thats correct. I’m just commenting on how season 6 has been great as a whole.

Now we are ready for the strong emotions
ReplyCopy URLMay 5, 2022 at 2:13 pm #1204943336Is that the last we’ll see of Huertas, I wonder?
It seems to be building towards the Big Three, Jack and Rebecca. This weeks episode seemed like the perfect way to say goodbye to Miguel completely, so I’d be surprised if he pops up again.

May 10, 2022 at 10:15 pm #1204948716I DEMMAND (kindly and friendly) you all put Mandy Moore in your prediction, we owe this to her immense talent, promote her as much as you can. Even if she does not get in, you can all survive one wrong prediction. Act now!
ReplyCopy URLMay 11, 2022 at 2:55 am #1204948803This season has been a love letter to Rebecca and it is so beautiful to watch. The writing has never been this elegant and the cast is as stellar as ever. Mandy not only deserves an Emmy nomination, but a win would be totally well deserved too.

I hope with the finale they also break into the writing/directing they are soooooo overdue there.
ReplyCopy URLMay 11, 2022 at 5:10 am #1204948869Mandy Moore is doing everything this season, and I’m living! I’m not ready for Rebecca’s deathbed scenes, but this episode showcased Moore in such a fantastic way. Every time period she’s in is riveting without missing a single character beat. She’s fully earned her Emmy nomination this year, and the series also needs to be in everyone’s Drama predictions. I’ve been wavering in what the series finale will end up being, unless the final family gathering lasts for two episodes. Some elements will likely be glossed over with time constraints, but it looks like the intentions are purposeful and setting the stage for a strong conclusion. It’s almost time!
