I ugly cried at the end. It reminded me of when I would go home to visit my parents and I would cut my Dad’s hair. He had dementia and passed away in December AND his birthday is soon. Also, Mandy Moore as Rebecca just sitting there staring, I know that look too. Everything was so real but still beautiful showing the love.

I have never had such experience and I cried my eyes out at those scenes, I cannot imagine what it was for you. Stay strong, I am sending you a hug!

Welcome on board, everybody.
This weeks episode probably set a record for the most amount of times I welled up in a single episode. That ending nearly broke me yet again.
To Build A Home is already a touching song, but using it for all these big moments throughout is devastating me just from the opening note now.
Is next week ‘The Train’ going to be the line of people coming to see Rebecca and them each getting a final goodbye with her. It’s going to be devastating no matter what happens.

She’s just astonishing, what a range. The cast should definitely be nominated for SAGs next year, because the level of the acting this season I think has been the strongest
The other thing that I really hope that happens is that they campaign Milo in supporting, just for him to get the nomination
Anyways, I’m gonna be a mess the next two weeks

Synopsis: The Pearsons gather around Rebecca’s bedside.
Discuss.
ReplyCopy URLMay 17, 2022 at 8:41 pm #1204955124That was so beautifully written. I loved the Train as the vehicle (no pun intended) to show Rebecca saying her goodbyes, especially with the intercom being her actual hearing in the world.
The scene with her doctor at the bar was incredibly moving and powerful. He deserved a Guest Actor nomination.
This would be a more than worthy nomination for Writing.

This final season just continues to hit it out of the park… In an episdoe full of tearjerking moments, I actually think Beth’s goodbye to Rebecca was the best and a gorgeous moment for Susan Kalechi-Watson. Please fellow Emmy voters give her one nod for all the great work she’s done over the years….. Of course the whole ensemble was also wonderful and I really think the show is gonna come back big with noms this year. So excited and nervous for the finale next week.
“The Train” Grade: A
ReplyCopy URLMay 18, 2022 at 2:00 am #1204955208This one did me ALL the way in! It could have easily served as the final episode. Mandy Moore was absolutely ravishing throughout. The “train” metaphor was both heavy-handed and beautifully captured through its production design. Ron Cephas Jones and Gerald McRaney returned tonight, and they did what needed to be done for their respective Emmy nominations. You’ve been told. I’m bracing myself for the series finale next week. It might have the potential of being our next “Everyone’s Waiting.” Stay tuned…

I will ask you once again to put Mandy Moore in your predictions even if you think that she will not make it, she deserves that last push from us! I will ask you the same for the show, but I don´t want to be insolent.

Also, I’m curious if NBC will go all in with only one submission in Writing & Directing, presumably the series finale, or will they submit multiple entries? If the later, “The Train” has a strong chance in Writing.

Plus its release schedule being right before nomination voting and the buzz being so high, I can’t see it underperforming.
