The Righteous Gemstones appearing on a few honourable mentions and 10+ lists is interesting. Didn’t think it was a critical radar at all.

I think this is actually the first metacritic eligible list to mention House of the Dragon at all.

It looks like Better Call Saul is our early aggregate frontrunner. Right now it has a 4 point lead over The Bear and is the only show with multiple no.1 placements. It has not only made every list it was on from 2020 but it has also broken into some it wasn’t in the top 10 on before (Paste) but also moved up on Time’s and Complex’s (both of which it was 2nd on in 2020) lists.

Outside of The Rehearsal and Barry, HBO seems to be having a slow start this year. Hacks and Somebody Somewhere are next in line on the aggregate for them and they only have 2 points each right now.

FYC: Better Call Saul, The English and The Good Fight in all categories including Emily Blunt, Bob Odenkirk, Christine Baranski and Rhea Seehorn.

Earlier in this comment I said Severance was beating Better Call Saul in the overall list; this was wrong, I accidentally looked at my document for the Gold Derby members’ aggregate instead. Really sorry for the confusion. (They were actually tied for first, but with the introduction of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review list, Better Call Saul has taken the lead.)

haven’t seen a bunch of shows BUT ugh the partner track and blockbuster high placements are so validating, easily the most exhausting shows I’ve seen all year

    Fox 5

(This list is done by Caroline Siede and Allison Shoemaker, who normally submit lists to the AV Club. I don’t know if people are aware, but earlier this year the AV Club laid off anyone who wouldn’t move to Los Angeles. I was about to dismiss this list until I saw who had written it, I guess this is where they landed after the lay offs. Based on how the list is formatted, I feel like they’re possibly submitting a more ordinary TV list to a different publication. The list contains films, TV shows, books, and music, but it is ranked so I just extracted the TV shows.)

Honourable Mention: The Marshawn Lynch episode of Murderville

The Patient is having it’s Dopesick moment with end year lists.

Hopefully he improves as the show progresses because from what I’ve seen so far Domnhnall is outacting him.
