Maya Erskine as Maya Ishii-Peters in PEN15.

Not only the best comedic performance of the year, but, in my opinion, the best performance in any genre of the year. I am still so impressed by her range, especially in “Play” and “Opening Night”.

It's about the chaotic editing in Moulin Rouge!

    Melinda Page Hamilton (Anna Draper)

Melinda was fantastic. I used to love her scenes.

Jane Kaczmarek, Malcolm in the Middle

Once again you’re spilling. The way this queen was robbed over and over, at least TCA recognized her twice as they should.

    Michelle Gomez, Doctor Who

Left her off of my original list because she was nominated for a BAFTA but what an iconic performance! I hope she makes it in at the Emmys this year for The Flight Attendant.

    Jennifer Carpenter in Dexter

ABSOLUTELY. The way she made the best of every terrible storyline they threw her way, and yet still never got her Emmy recognition.

    Ruth Wilson in Luther

Legendary performance. The fact her and Andrew Scott (Sherlock) never got recognition for their performances in spite of being the MVPs of their shows is just as villainous as the behaviour of their characters lol.

This is a little esoteric, but I recently went down a rabbit hole of Wonder Woman episodes from 1977-1978 (don’t ask).

Aside from looking spectacular, Lynda Carter carries a lot of silliness very well. The show is ridiculous of course, but she makes an awful lot of things work and is absolutely magnetic to watch. Doesn’t matter if the scene is dramatic, heroic, comic, or ironic, she’s equally up to the task.

I’m not saying she was award-worthy, but from a distant perspective, her work was rock-solid.

    Elizabeth McGovern (Downton Abbey)

Does anybody here knows why she was only nominated for the first season and following that only Dockery got in (when she failed to get in for s1)?

It’s just the way Thompson left such a terrifying impact in this role with limited screen time. One of her career best performances.

    FYC:

"The Good Fight" and "The Other Two" in all categories.
