She was amazing in that but I don’t think many people on here saw the show unfortunately.

Who was the next closest person who wasn’t Gold-Derby-So-White?
Totally. Garner’s votes (43) were much much more than Linney’s (25).
Viola Davis was 8th in Actress and Sterling K.Brown was 7th in Actor.
How close was Margo Martindale to making the cut for justified? I thought she would be a sure thing too.
Far from a nomination.
She had just 11 votes. She was amazing in that but I don’t think many people on here saw the show unfortunately.
💯
Interesting stat: 3 more votes and Elisabeth Moss would have made in for Mad Men as well, making her a double nominee. There was a narrow gap between 6th and the next three (Moss, Davis, Comer)
I never thought Gold Derby would be so much more whiter than conventional Award Bodies.

I won’t be making any more threads/polls/surveys like these anytime soon. Ik it’s tiring (both for you all as voters and for me to individually add the name cards for all candidates).
On the optional “suggestion section” of the final voting poll, there were a few who were irritated by these polls. Honestly speaking, I understand your irritation. It’s natural. Ik I’ve made a few enemies due to these but that’s fine. It doesn’t matter.
Thank you all for your cooperation! Was a nice little experiment. Something I thought might help. What I found out was that a restricted ballot is way more helpful than an unlimited one. Another thing of intrigue was the fact that both big winners (Modern Family and Game Of Thrones) are already 5-time and 4-time Series winners already who were juggernauts in their times. Both swept the supporting categories. Something to think about. Our nominee and winners were less diverse than most places. Maybe Gold Derby indeed is very similar to the Academy?
This has been a nice experience mainly because of your enthusiastic participation. I never thought something like this could get so many responses and yet it did. It was indeed fun making these and I hope we got to know something new, maybe. Cheers! Thanks

Diversity voting and membership drives are performative and are aiming to achieve an quota-based outcome (each category must have at least one POC nominee and there must be at least one POC acting winner). Here on GD no one has anything to prove, and this is how individual human voters feel about individual human performances and stories. Super interesting. Unconscious bias or something else?

I’m pretty sure she won the Gold Derby award back when it aired. But it’s true that this place looks a lot different now than it did then. If people here now haven’t watch Justified yet they need to since it’s one of the best and most underrated series of the 2010s.

Game of Thrones was the most popular show in the world for about 5 years and despite the fact the final seasons sullied its memory for many people it still won over shows whose reputations were still intact or even elevated after they ended.

Ugh the power these two hold. Whew.
Also crying at Headey being the only winner to not have an Emmy. We deserved better.

Both her and Hendricks not winning Emmys was very unfortunate.
