Darling, they deserved too. As did Yvonne. But I would have been happy with Lena wins as well.
But Lena did nothing in 8 and almost nothing in 7. What would there be to be happy about? If I had to rank all of her seasons, those would be at the bottom (even 3 would be above them, and that wasn’t a great season for her).

She had two bombastic episodes in season 7 and she very much did something IMO in season 8. She elevated horrendous, almost nonexistent material and gave my favorite performance in S8. Also, it’s my opinion, but feel free to disagree. 🙂

Of course it’s your opinion. 🙂 I can read the thread title after all. But in my opinion having one crying scene isn’t enough to deserve an Emmy, no matter how good it is. She did nothing that season other than a single scene. Should 2 minutes of work really be worth more than season-long great performances from people who actually had more to do than making a single scene convincing? And what did Headey even really do in Season 7? I remember that one scene with Jaime at the end I guess, but that’s it. That hardly seems like it’s at the level of GOAT work like Kirby in Beryl.
July 2, 2021 at 7:33 am #1204326899Headey deserved an emmy the most over the course of the entire series but for season 8 specifically I would’ve given it to Christie.

Vanessa Kirby and Yvonne Strahovski are laughing at Thandie’s GIF. Lets be honest, she didn’t deserve for season 2. She was, however, completely robbed for season 1.
Julia definitely deserved her Emmy for season 2. We agree.

I agree with all of this but I’m just glad Thandiwe won in general she was sweep worthy for s1.
July 2, 2021 at 7:51 am #1204326919Thandiwe should have won for S1, but I also cannot begrudge Ann Dowd’s win. She’s just too good not to have an Emmy, so I am glad she has one.
July 2, 2021 at 1:28 pm #1204327247Heck, why not add 7
FYC: Better Call Saul, The English and The Good Fight in all categories including Emily Blunt, Bob Odenkirk, Christine Baranski and Rhea Seehorn.
July 3, 2021 at 3:44 am #1204327860Thandiwe in Akane No Mai is a god-tier performance. I can’t disagree with that win. Rinko Kikuchi should have been recognised in Guest for this too.
FYC: "What We Do in the Shadows", "Industry" and "The Last of Us" in everything, Maya Rudolph for "Loot", Ego Nwodim for "Saturday Night Live", Simona Tabasco for "The White Lotus"
July 3, 2021 at 3:48 am #1204327864Thandiwe should have won for Westworld season 1, Ann Dowd should have won for The Leftovers season 3 in guest that same year and Vanessa Kirby should have won for The Crown season 2 in 2018.
There. Everyone’s a winner 🙂

July 3, 2021 at 5:06 am #1204327912Michael C Hall should have won 2 Emmy’s. One for Six Feet Under and one for Dexter
Walton Goggins should have won for Justified for his role as Boyd Crowder
The BAFTAS are worthless , it is like winning a free toy with your happy meal
The Hollywood Foreign Press should not bow down to pressure being exerted by them
Mark Ruffalo should not have won an Emmy for I know This Much is True , he is a terror sympathizer

Yet they actually award performances that are more deserving than those honoured anywhere else.

July 3, 2021 at 6:07 am #1204327963That Olivia Colman scene from Broadchurch is some of the best acting I have ever seen! I never even watched the show, but her saying “He was 11!” haunts me to this day.
