Don’t know if it is unpopular but Janelle James should’ve won the Emmy last year for Abbott Elementary while Sheryl Lee Ralph should won this year for Season 2 instead.

Amanda Seyfried was absolutely amazing in The Dropout and deserved to sweep. One of the greatest performances to ever win Limited/Movie Actress.

    Emmys FYC:

Comedy: The Bear, Cunk on Earth, Only Murders in the Building, Reservation Dogs

Drama: The Last of Us, Stranger Things

    Limited/Movie:

On that note, before coming to this forum I hadn’t heard a single negative thing about The Dropout and I thought it was good. I wasn’t blown away by it, but I enjoyed it and of the nominees Seyfried was my runner up after Qualley. My only real grudge is Station Eleven not being nominated, but I can’t really say that shocked me (unless I’m forgetting another Limited Series snub). From what I’ve seen Seyfried did a really good job of caturing Holmes’s mannerisms and I didn’t know anything about Theranos, I thought it was a pretty fascinating exploration of “girlboss” feminism and the failures of capitalism

Maid definitely should have been nominated — it was win-worthy. I was also disappointed with The Staircase missing — it was probably my fifth. Those two (and Station Eleven) missing for Pam & Tommy and Inventing Anna is such a joke.

I only went to look at the nominees Seyfried was up against and completely forgot that Maid and Staircase didn’t also get series noms, I’d definitely pick both over The Dropout. Also hated Pam & Tommy and I’m glad it hasn’t been winning anything at the winter awards.

In S3, Linda Cardellini > Christina Applegate although both are amazing.

    I think the “In S3” isn’t necessary

Agreed. Preferred Applegate to Cardellini myself in both S1 and S2, but Cardellini really knocked S3 out of the park. Enjoyed her performance there more than ever.

I’m fine with Tatiana Maslany’s win but the fact that Krysten Ritter’s performance as Jessica Jones went completely unrecognized by the Emmys is beyond tragic.

What hurts the most about Ritter is the fact that if Jessica Jones happened to premiere in a post Watchmen/Wandavision world it would get tons of noms
David Tennant was also SPECTACULAR on s1

    The Bear is a comedy.

Literally the most unpopular opinion ever 💀.
I do find the show comical at points so I’m not bothered by it’s placement.

I was cackling every episode aside from the finale. I mean I consider Succession a comedy as well so I’m happy to be in the minority!
