She had such a great character. Wonder if there was issue behind scene, it’s not like that show had perfect behind the scene.
My guess would be the filming locations. Raising Hope shot in LA while The Good Wife shot in New York. Martha, being the star, probably could make time as easily. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it! I loved her as Patti Nyholm. But also, Alicia took on different types of clients the last couple of seasons, so probably it was tougher to write in her character?

This is so very true. Barb became so popular for a lot of folks, even though she was trying to keep her best friend from getting some lol

To be honest, most double nominees tend to be a coattail for the performers overall strength — See Oh’s SNL nod last year. Jane Lynch nom for 2.5 Men in 2010 & Borstein’s voice-over win in 2018.

Ann Dowd could have easily won with this episode (if the competition wasn’t as strong). She was that good. She also could have been competitive for Seasons 1 and 2 of “The Leftovers.”

I suppose you mean Brendan Coyle and I completely disagree. He was superb in season 2 for which he was nominated at the Emmys. He was also terrific in season 1 and thanks to that he was the only actor that the Bafta nominated for the show for that season, after that they nominated Maggie Smith for season 2 and no one else ever, which shows how good Coyle was.
