I also was confused why Apple didn’t make their streaming service free for at least a year.

You do get a year free trial, if you’re already subscribed to Apple Music.

I voted for Run because the writing was horrid. It could have and should have been so much better. It wasted a great performance by Wever on a mess of a script and plotting.

I didn’t vote for The Politician because I haven’t watched season 2. I didn’t vote for Hollywood because I knew it’d be disappointing and that’s what I got. But Ryan Murphy shows usually disappoint me.

Voted for “Avenue 5.” That was practically unwatchable. Apple TV+ isn’t a flop. “The Morning Show” put the streaming service on the map and will be a significant Emmy contender this month. “Run” was excellent. “Hollywood” and “Space Force” at least were subscriber-based successes for Netflix, even if they’re both critical duds. I’m guessing that “The Politician” is still around due to Ryan Murphy’s special relationship with Netflix, but it received a second season, so clearly some audiences out there are responding and enjoying it. It’s not a “flop” by definition. I’d have voted for that as a close 2nd in this poll based on content.

As Iannucci’s follow-up to one of the all-time comedies, the disappointing Avenue 5 has to be it.

Update: Now that Emmy nominations are out I can officially confirm that Run, Space Force and Avenue 5 are flops. The Politician and Hollywood flooped to a lesser extent. From Apple, only The Morning Show received major noms but failed to score a series nom.

Vicky Jones surprised me with Run. She’s actually an extraordinary playwright and she did well writing the episode, “Don’t I Know You?” for Killing Eve in season 1, but obviously that didn’t transition to writing an entire series. I too found the writing for Run to be subpar.
