We’ve seen over the past two years where actresses who were snubbed in the Drama or Comedy Actress fields or dropped like Mandy Moore, Viola Davis, Issa Rae and Tracee Ellis Ross make it back in when the field gets slightly weaker. With the field looking weaker next year in Drama Actress with Euphoria and Killing Eve not returning which Drama Actress is the most likely to return after getting dropped or get nominated after previous snubs à la Moore.

    I personally think Moore.

I would say Moore. As I think This Is Us gonna be a big player at next years Emmys so her getting nominated again is likely. I don’t really see Moss rebounding as Handmaid’s Tale will probably dwindle in quality over the years, much like Homeland. I don’t see MJ Rodriguez ever getting nominated unless Pose has a spectacular season, which I just don’t see.

FYC Oscars: Licorice Pizza (Best Picture, Best Director, Original Screenplay), The Mitchells vs The Machines (Best Picture, Animated Feature, Original Screenplay), Wes Anderson (Best Director), Denzel Washington (The Tragedy of MacBeth), Andrew Garfield and Robin de Jesus (Tick, Tick...BOOM!), Jayne Houdyshell (The Humans), Stephen Karam (Adapted Screenplay), Attica and Summer of Soul (Best Documentary)

FYC Razzies: Dear Evan Hansen (in all eligible categories)

Hoping for Mandy Moore and MJ Rodriguez. Both are doing amazing jobs and MJ’s nomination would be historic. She needs to happen at least once before the show ends.

Edit: Forgot to say who I voted for. I picked Moore because This Is Us still has some pulse among actors, as shown by Ron Cephas Jones’ win and the fact they never dropped Sterling K. Brown. I’m also expecting the show to get SAG ensemble nom again, and Mandy Moore’s material is going to be beyond baity.

Really hoping for Mandy Moore, she truly deserves the recognition because she only have gotten better with every season of This Is Us. IF THT comes back on time, Elisabeth Moss could easily be back, but I think we’re gonna have someone new in the category

Moore can absolutely can back (and in all likelihood will). She’s done it before in weak fields; TIU still has the backing of the actors; has beyond excellent material lined up for S5; was probably 7th-9th (sorry Nicole, Elisabeth, Viola & ReeseX2) and most importantly, she’s already done it before.

Will continue the prayer circles for Critics Choice nominee MJ Rodriguez until it happens.

Elisabeth Moss is an Emmy winner in this category and multiple times nominee. Ofc, she’d be more likely to return than a one-time nominee and MJ Rodriguez, who the Emmys will, unfortunately, never nominate.

I think Elisabeth Moss. Her show is still performing the best compared to POSE and This Is Us awards-wise but apparently (haven’t seen it post season 1) it’s also getting worse with each season.

Mandy Moore should have the biggest chance though as she’s delivering sublime work in a show that has consistent quality.

I don’t think the Emmys care about POSE much aside from Billy Porter.

To be fair, Rodriguez can’t really rebound as she never got nominated in the first place.

    Ms. Moss without a doubt.

I could see Elisabeth Moss going the same path as Julianna Margulies for The Good Wife. I just think the competition was way too strong this year and her show aired basically a whole year ago. I do think she’s coming back and I wouldn’t be surprised if she won again.

Moss is gone and the Emmys are better off for it.

Depends on the political climate. The next season of the Handmaid’s Tale could be incredibly relevant and could boost it back into the top tier spots for a lot of categories. Moss could easily return.

With that said, I do think it is undeniable that This Is Us will be stronger next year, which would help boost Moore back into the line-up.

MJ Rodriguez should be in the running, but her best chance honestly was Season 1.

There’s no set air date for a return for “Handmaids” even though they are about to resume filming.

They’ve been filming for three weeks now and had two weeks in the can before the lockdown happened.
