I’m only going to do these for performing categories that had less nominees than last year.
This may seem surprising but I wouldn’t be surprised if Taraji P. Henson was in the top 10 considering how they brought back Ellis Ross and nominated Spencer out of the blue.
That being said I voted for Davis.
ReplyJuly 29, 2020 at 1:25 pm #1203613167If possible, you should create a survey using Google Forms with all categories and post here. There are too many threads about who was the runner-up. Don’t get me wrong, I’m liking it, but there are too many categories.

July 29, 2020 at 1:39 pm #1203613232Yeah, the three series categories were manageable, but moving into acting is a can of worms, so please refrain from further threads. Opinions are also harder to justify because one-off nominees are obviously more of a thing in acting than series.

Noted.
ReplyCopy URLJuly 29, 2020 at 2:35 pm #1203613392I would say either Davis or even Witherspoon for The Morning Show considering all of its other acting nominations.
ReplyCopy URLJuly 29, 2020 at 3:57 pm #1203613590I think realistically it would have been Nicole Kidman? She got in at the Globes and CC, I never thought she would be in danger here. It’s really sad that BLL was shut out so badly. With certain shows, the shock factor of a snub can be exciting, but a show like Big Little Lies just doesn’t come around very often and the performances were a masterclass. I bet if it scored more (deserved) nods that they would have announced a third season. Cause we know it’s happening.
It seems to be a bit of a pattern now with the Emmys; snubbing Oscar winners and A-list stars to show that they aren’t impressed by an actors status or resume anymore. I think that’s all well and good- amazing actually- but only when the actor doesn’t have the performance to warrant a nomination or win.
Nicole Kidman, Reese Witherspoon x3, Viola Davis, Chirs Evans, Rose Byrne etc etc. Last year with Julia Roberts, Emma Stone and George Clooney.

Or Robin Wright.
ReplyCopy URLJuly 29, 2020 at 4:03 pm #1203613609I am thinking Reese in TMS was 7th, due to the surprise love for the show amongst the acting branch. But Moss and Davis are right there with her though.
ReplyCopy URLJuly 29, 2020 at 4:20 pm #1203613662Reese Witherspoon for The Morning Show. All those Moss voters probably didn’t notice THT TANKED and Wiley’s nomination is namecheck and individual love for her alone rather than for the show.
