Of course, TV’s Golden Girl has made her share of mistakes, but which ones were in the WORST in the award’s history. Please keep your list to 10 max, ranked or not, or merely just cite one truly awful award win.

Alec Baldwin for 30 Rock (not a Baldwin or 30 Rock fan and it’s especially egregious when I think of how often he beat Steve Carell)

Melissa McCarthy for Mike & Molly (they were awarding her Bridesmaids performance, not her M&M performance)

    – Stockard Channing, The West Wing (2002): Both her & Mary-Louise Parker should have been nominated in the guest category (and should have lost to Patricia Clarkson). Even in the supporting actress category, Janel Moloney and Lauren Ambrose had both better submissions and overall season arc.

    – Olivia Colman, The Crown (2021): Olivia Colman has given my personal favourite performance both in TV (Broadchurch) & films (The Favourite, The Lost Daughter) and there isn’t anybody killing it like her. I’m eagerly waiting for Empire of Light and I’m sure it’s gonna be fireworks. And yet, I must admit, Emma Corrin, Michaela Jaé Rodriguez, Elisabeth Moss & Uzo Aduba all had Emmy win-worthy season of television and in comparison, Olivia Colman sadly doesn’t come very close. I’ll always think of this win of hers as the one she should have but never got for Broadchurch.

FYC: "This Is Us", "The Good Fight", "Severance" & "Hacks" in all categories.

Juliette Lewis ("Yellowjackets "), Mandy Moore ("This Is Us"), Kavyan Novak ("What We Do In The Shadows "), Edie Falco ("Impeachment: American Crime Story"), Drew Tarver & Heléne Yorke ("The Other Two")

I know it was a pandemic year and everything but I just have to point these three out because their performances on the season they were competing for weren’t compelling at all and they all seem like their wins were for other factors and not their performances:

    Tobias Menzies, The Crown
    Evan Peters, Mare of Easttown
    Brett Goldstein, Ted Lasso

Sorry but Regina King was always good but not great in American Crime (Felicity Huffman every season and Lily Taylor in season 2 outshined her)…

James Spader & William Shatner in “Boston Legal.” Absolute trash, the both of them.
