I said in terms of the nomination repeatedly and not in terms of the win. I believe Clarkson was probably second for the win once she was nominated. And Chernobyl got nominated for three Emmys and like Fosse/Verdon only missed out for one member of their key cast (who had Chernobyl aired now probably would have been nominated considering her star has risen). I find it ironic that someone thinks that Elizabeth Perkins would have been nominated for Sharp Objects when the show was so weak (and I’m saying this as someone who loved Sharp Objects and Fosse/Verdon).

What I really said that I would have been more confident in her nomination than in Scanlen’s for obvious reasons. Perkins is a well-respected veteran, and the Academy frequently name-checks actors for popular shows. It’s also not fair to mention the weakness of Sharp Objects referring to my Perkins comment, as I obviously thought of Perkins’ possible nomination over Scanlen when the show came out and I still didn’t know if she would be submitted.

    FYC 2022 Emmys:

Best Actress in a Drama Series: Sandra Oh in "Killing Eve"

Best Actress in a Comedy Series: Sandra Oh in "The Chair"

Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series: Kim Joo-ryoung in "Squid Game"

I think she would have been nominated and I think she would have bumped Blake. Also those who say she would have bumped Clarkson or Arquette, you guys are completely insane…

Clarkson was obviously first or second in nominations. You don’t just go from winning the Globe and CC, with an individual SAG nomination for a Supporting role to last in nominations when you’re the frontrunner throughout the season. Farmiga, Qualley, and Blake couldn’t muster up anything past CC, they were obviously at the bottom of the lineup in both nominations and wins.

    Two words : Winona Ryder

Solidarity with the striking writers. Pay them the wages they are owed for bringing us the content we are all on here because of!

Nineteen words: Millie Bobby Brown, Laura Dern, Emily Watson, Julia Garner, Alex Borstein, Thandie Newton, Penelope Cruz, Patricia Arquette, Uzo Aduba. And that’s not even including Toni Collette and HBC this year and anything before 2017. They all were either nominated or won the Emmy and were definitely not in last place come nominations (with the possible exception of MBB for her second season). Winona didn’t win a Globe and wasn’t individually nominated for anything past her first season anywhere.
