Premise: Y: The Last Man takes place in a post-apocalyptic world where a mysterious cataclysmic event simultaneously killed every mammal with a Y chromosome but for one man, Yorick Brown (Ben Schnetzer), and his pet monkey Ampersand. The series follows Yorick as he traverses the new world, as its survivors struggle with their losses and attempt to restore world society—led by Yorick’s mother, who is the new U.S. President Jennifer Brown (Diane Lane).

I’ll check this out (as the reviews are mixed but not vitriolic on an unfinished season) when I get access to the pilot on the weekend.

I’ve just watched the pilot and I don’t know why the reviews were mixed. I enjoyed the pilot a lot – it was not perfect, but it was good. I think it’s gonna be Industry 2.0 IMO.

All the reviews read like people should have been given the full season, but I think there’s a good chance they’re doing post as they go along as it only wrapped in July. It’s at 70 now on RT. It’s certainly more of a contender than American Rust on paper, at least.

I’m still going to watch it eventually. Not an awards thing, but it might be enjoyable because I love the comic book. Reviews for Snowpiercer and Servant were very mixed too, and both shows are amazing

Same. It doesn’t need to be. If FX/Fx on Hulu get a solidly performing drama out of this they’ll probably be pretty happy with that. Their lack of promo does suggest any awards would be a bonus.
