I love that every single character on this show is unhinged.

    Amazing, spectacular, incredible, no words.

    But seriously though, great premiere!

Loved the premiere. I guess the negative reviews are really just “it’s the same as last season!” But last season was fantastic so… The actors are great and I just feel like it’s so much fun, I love the energy and the pacing. Can’t wait for next week’s episode and hope it gets lots of noms.

Watching the premiere reminded me of why I enjoyed watching this show in the first place. The characters are so fascinating and performances so compelling to watch but above all the show is a lot of fun! Good of the writers to freshen up the formula with the flash-forward to the teens getting rescued in order to stop it from becoming stale and imprint older Lottie into the story more.

Solidarity with the striking writers. Pay them the wages they are owed for bringing us the content we are all on here because of!

Yea the negative critiques seem to mostly be that different subplots have totally different tones but that’s… kind of what I loved about the first season. That any given scene could be anything from horror to crime drama, suburban satire, black comedy, political thriller, character study, etc. When each of them is handled this well and balanced this evenly, bring on all the tones!

Either that or that people prefer some storylines over others which, fair, that’s probably gonna happen in any ensemble show and that’s everyones prerogative. I personally love every storyline and can’t wait to watch all of them play out.

One review said that Ricci and Lynskey were in different shows and I’m like… isn’t that what makes it fun? Like have you never watched a show with an over the top campy villain before? I love that the show can be both really grounded with its characters while also being a fun suspense mystery. It’s like watching Buffy and saying “Buffy and Glory are on different shows!” Like. They both have two really different roles in the plot. Of course they come off differently, it’s fun.

Unfortunately, I didn’t think the premiere was very good and I personally loved the first season. It kind of feels like this show could implode at any second. I mean, it’s obviously never been grounded in reality, but I could see this getting messy quickly. Hopefully it was just a weak first episode and the rest of the season is better.

Anyway, Warren Kole was really fun here! Probably the standout for me, which is unexpected lol. I was let down by adult Lottie. I thought it was a bizarre to choice to introduce her within the first 10 minutes of the episode. Would have been more impactful if they kept that towards the end after Natalie escaped.

I loved the premiere, wanted more of Misty though. All the storylines are interesting which is impressive since there are a lot.

He lives in you, he lives in me, he watches over everything we see.

Warren Kole was underrated last season too. He’s so well cast against Lynskey.

Misty using the voice changer in the Yellowjackets premiere gave me visions of Christina Ricci as Ghostface and now I need it to happen.

What negative reviews you guys are talking about? 94% on Rotten Tomatoes and 78 on Metacritic, exactly like the first one

“the only you say thing is ‘I want my lawyer’, that’s why I put it on the cookie” one of the best line readings of the year.

What a wonderfully entertaining premiere! Glad that Jeff seems to have an increased presence this season being on the same proverbial page as Shauna now, he’s just hilarious. Very excited that this show is back.

FYC: Bad Sisters (Anne-Marie Duff) Cunk on Earth (Diane Morgan), Fleishman Is in Trouble (Lizzy Caplan/Claire Danes), Industry (Marisa Abela/Myha'la Herrold), Physical (Rose Byrne), Poker Face (Ellen Barkin/Joseph Gordon-Levitt/Chloë Sevigny), The White Lotus (Sabrina Impacciatore)
