Emmy winner Jessica Hobbs will direct the second episode of the season. Other confirmed directors (per leaked images) are Alex Gabassi, Christian Schwochow, Erik Richter Strand, and Philip Martin.

    Benjamin Caron not retuning? Interesting.

    FYC:

"The Good Fight", "The Other Two" and "Station Eleven" in all categories, Sarah Lancashire ("Julia"), William Jackson Harper ("Love Life") and Luke Kirby ("The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel")

I forgot to say that these are only the confirmed ones so far. Sorry! I think he will return, but I haven’t seen any pictures of him on the set or any clapperboard with his name on them.

All the actors in Pachinko, especially Yuh-Jung Youn and Minha Kim.
    Britt Lower for Severance.

I was expecting Caron to be absent this season. He was directing episodes for the Star Wars series Andor (3 apparently) last year and then went straight to directing Sharper with Julianne Moore and Sebastian Stan. Him doing The Crown as well would make for a very hectic schedule. The show always had 4 directors per season previously and we already have 5 people confirmed so that makes his return more unlikely. It is a shame honestly because he has probably been my favourite director on the show and it would have been nice to see him be a part of every single season.

Did some sleuthing and discovered S5 ends with Diana’s death or around that time at least. Dominic West was seen shooting the handover ceremony of Hong Kong in 1997 for the tenth episode, which was exactly two months before Diana’s demise. A company specialising in making ornaments also shared on social media the pics of the replicas of the lighting fixtures from the Ritz Paris they had built for The Crown S5 which corroborates everything.

Wish they’d bring back Phillipa Lowthorpe!

There is a rumor that Gillian Anderson has been seen on the set of the new season. I am not sure where it came from, I only heard about it on a Brazilian fanpage…

Wouldn’t be surprising considering John Lithgow appeared . Wouldn’t be surprised if Olivia shows up too. More 10 seconds Emmy wins

Emma Corrin is already appearing in a flashback in this season so perhaps Helena Bonham Carter will soon end up being the only person from the season 3 to 4 main cast to not win an Emmy lol.

I mean it’s entirely reasonable, it’s not like Thatcher is killed off.

I think I can speculate for what Anderson’s Thatcher might return.

As Couverture said, Dominic West was seen shooting the handover ceremony of Hong Kong in 1997. If that is the case, then Anderson being in as a guest makes sense. Because it was Margaret Thatcher who began all the negotiations regarding the Hong Kong handover, so it makes sense to have her in flashbacks as to show the handing over business. I think it’ll be a one episode cameo flashback,a bit like Foy for S4.

I mean really why wouldn’t you if you were Netflix after getting Foy a win last year.

That win was so odd but then again so is majority of guest wins. I would certainly do just that.
