What will win Best Comedy Series at the 2020 Emmy Awards? This category is no laughing matter! Recent winners “Fleabag” (2019) and “Veep” (2015-17) have left the airwaves, which opens the door for all kinds of new and returning shows. Of last year’s seven nominees for Best Comedy Series, only three are currently eligible: “The Good Place,” “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” and “Schitt’s Creek.” (“Fleabag,” “Barry,” “Russian Doll” and “Veep” did not air within the 2019-20 television season.) Former champs “Mrs. Maisel” (2018) and “Modern Family” (2010-14) are in the hunt to win again, while former nominees like “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” “Silicon Valley,” “Black-ish” and “GLOW” are hoping to return to the Emmy lineup.
