The revival of “American Idol” continues with its fifth season on ABC and 20th overall. The Season 20 Top 24 were chosen from those who survived Hollywood Week. Each of these contestants had to sing in the Showstopper round to convince the three judges — Luke Bryan, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie — that they deserved a place in the “American Idol” Top 24.
In turn, each of these “American Idol” Season 20 finalists performed for America’s vote from Aulani, a Disney Resort and Spa in Ko Olina, Hawaii. Pop star Bebe Rexha and Season 10 alum Jimmie Allen served as mentors. The Top 20 then returned to Hollywood and continued to perform for America’s vote until a champion was crowned. Additional mentors this season included Gabby Barrett, Derek Hough, will.iam and Carrie Underwood.
