The gang’s all here for season 18 of “Project Runway,” premiering on Thursday night, December 5, on Bravo. The show returned to the network in the spring of 2019 following a long stint on Lifetime, and returning from that spring season are host Karlie Kloss, mentor Christian Siriano, and judges Nina Garcia, Elaine Welteroth and Brandon Maxwell. But we’ve got a whole new crop of designers competing for fashion glory and a chance to present their collections at Fashion Week. So who was in and who was out? Keep revisiting this gallery throughout the season as we update it with every elimination.
There’s more at stake for the designers than just Fashion Week. This season’s winner receives a $250,000 grand prize courtesy from Bluprint, the official DIY partner of “Project Runway,” a feature in Elle magazine, the opportunity to be featured in a Bluprint digital series, $50,000 from Pilot FriXion Erasable Gel Ink Pens, and a mentorship with the Council of Fashion Designers of America.
The season 17 winner, Sebastian Grey, also got his own original digital series — “Fashion Sewing with Sebastian Grey” — along with $50,000 to invest in his design studio. So who will follow in his footsteps? Helping to decide throughout the season will be a wide array of celebrity guest judges including Cyndi Lauper, Laverne Cox, Leslie Jones, Rachel Brosnahan, Lindsey Vonn and more. And the season will include a number of notable New York City locations including the TWA Hotel at JFK Airport, Bergdorf Goodman, and the Vessel at Hudson Yards.
