Image Credit: Fox We hear a teacher calling, “Baby Alien, Baby Alien” just like in the film “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off.”
He says it’s time for his rebirth because he’s been stuck in second gear for a while.
Back when he was the “cream of the crop” circle he was in a theater every week and even made an appearance on the Tony Awards stage.
After a while he became a second thought, lost in space.
He’s opened his eyes to other passions and we see the Liberty Bell and a bunch of roses.

-
Baby Alien: Mark Sanchez (Revealed in Episode 4)
Image Credit: Fox “My arm kept cramping up,” joked the former quarterback after host Nick Cannon helped him pull off the awkward costume.
As to what he enjoyed most about participating in the singing competition, Mark said, “Sharing this experience with my little man,” he revealed in a more serious tone. “He knows the words to ‘Faith’ now. He knows the words to ‘It’s Time’ by Imagine Dragons we we’ve been rockin’ out in the car. It’s been really fun.”
There were hints within Baby Alien’s clue packages that should have pointed us in the footballer’s direction. The Tony award in Baby Alien’s package was a clue to Mark’s appearance as a guest presenter in 2010. The hot dog was a nod to Mark’s viral sideline moment where he ate a hot dog during a game. And the roses were a clue to Mark leading the USC Trojans to a Rose Bowl victory as their MVP.

After all, it’s how I got my six-pack.

Judges Guesses: Paul Anka, Al Roker, Ringo Starr
-
Broccoli: Paul Anka
Image Credit: Fox This one-time teen idol, who is about to turn 80, is still making music. He came to fame in the 1950s, which would explain his song choices. Anka’s unmistakable voice is smooth and silky, just like the one coming out of Broccoli. And the cumbersome costume is topped off by a varsity letterman jacket with the show’s logo; that looks like a throwback to the kind of clothes kids wore in the nifty fifties, when Anka was at the top of the charts with songs like “Diana” and “Puppy Love.”
That latter hit is referenced by the various shots of dogs in the clues video. And the visual reference to TikTok made us think of another one of Anka’s #1 songs, “Put Your Head On My Shoulder,” which has found a new life on this social media outlet. Broccoli’s big reveal that a contest helped launch his career coupled with that photo of a soup can fit in with Anka’s story that he won a life-changing trip to New York City by collecting Campbell soup can labels.
And Anka ticks several boxes from the collective clues we got about this season’s contestants. As a group, they’ve sold 280 million albums; Anka accounts for 10 million of those. In total, the 17 celebrities are worth almost $400 million. Anka’s fortune runs into the tens of millions, including the royalties from composing Johnny Carson’s theme song and Frank Sinatra’s signature tune “My Way.” Anka recorded a Spanish language version, “A Mi Manera,” of the latter that has become a staple of mariachi bands (we see a shot of one of those in the clues video).

Crocodile: Episode 2 – ‘It’s My Life’ by Bon Jovi
Image Credit: Fox Becoming a crocodile was a “natural selection” because he’s happiest in water.

We see an Italian flag, a crooner on stage and a fish inside a pineapple.

We also see a prominently featured hotel in his clue package.
Judges Guesses: Jon Hamm, Nick Lachey, Donnie Wahlberg
-

He loves video games and the song “Step By Step” is mentioned.
His final clue is that Crocodile is in a huge cult classic movie.
Judges Guesses: Justin Guarini, Jordan Knight, Jared Leto
-
Crocodile: Episode 10: ‘I Don’t Wanna Miss a Thing’ by Aerosmith
Image Credit: Fox Competing has made him feel more alive than he has in a long time and his pink jaws have given him the freedom to all the genres of music he loves. Tonight he’s performing for his kids, who he drives eight hours to see after every show.
He’s intimidated by Seahorse’s voice, but knows nobody has more heart than him. His super clue is a rat eating pizza.
The additional clue in his safe reveals the Crocodile is connected to Craig. “You’re one of my favorite actors and it’s so cool to be able to share the screen with you, again.”
-
Crocodile: Nick Carter
Image Credit: Fox We are certain that the Crocodile is not Jenny’s husband, Donnie Wahlberg. He has been her go-to guess for three seasons now and he is still yet to appear on the show busy as he is with filming “Blue Bloods” in New York City.
But we do think that the Crocodile is someone got their start in a boy band: Nick Carter, who found fame with the Backstreet Boys. Before this he was working as a child actor and honing his skills as a singer and dancer. He was only 10 when he won a talent contest, taking home $100 that he gave to his father; the Crocodile shared this heartbreaking story with us. The Crocodile’s childhood clue was a dolphin-themed pinata; Nick is an outspoken environmentalist who started the Oceans Campaign in 2001 and was a United Nations Special Ambassador for the Year of the Dolphin in 2007.
One of the first images in the clues video was a yellow slip and slide; Nick was only nine when he was extra in the Johnny Depp film “Edward Scissorhands” and can be seen playing on such a toy. Among the many other visual clues that tell us that the Crocodile is Nick Carter are the following: the Stars and Stripes flag (Nick’s third solo album was called “All American”); a disco ball (Nick was the runner-up on season 21 of “Dancing with the Stars”); a pirate flag (Nick is a hardcore fan of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers NFL team and sports a tattoo of a pirate ship); and the number “5” (Nick comes from a family of five, all of whom are in show biz);
In their heyday at the turn of the century, the Backstreet Boys racked up eight Grammy nominations and earned one more last year for their hit single “Don’t Go Breaking My Heart”; as a group, “The Masked Singer” contestants can boast of 46 bids for music’s highest honor.
After a break for a few years, the Boys got back together in 2010; their new-found success culminated in a stint at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas that began in 2017; the first clues video was centered on Sin City.

The musical icon, who is known for his outlandish fashion choices, also had three albums with the word “dragon” in them.
Although only half the panel was able to guess Busta was beneath the mask, there were several hints in his clue package pointing them in the right direction. The dinosaur car in Dragon’s package was a clue to the Reptar character Busta voiced in the “Rugrats” movie. The barbell was a clue to Busta’s famously ripped physique and passion for weight lifting. The “quest” mentioned hinted to Busta’s musical collaboration with A Tribe Called Quest.
-

Giraffe: Brian Austin Green (Revealed in Episode 3)
Image Credit: Fox The panel of judges from “The Masked Singer” was stunned on Wednesday night when the Giraffe was revealed to be “Beverly Hills 90210” star Brian Austin Green. Robin Thicke looked especially frustrated after failing to guess the Giraffe’s identity, revealing that he was best friends with the 90’s icon when they were teenagers.
Brian continued to explain their history in his unmasked interview, stating, “Robin and I had a group when we were kids called ‘Think Twice.'” Host Nick Cannon poked fun about them being the white Kris Kross before Brian concluded, “It’s been fun! I’ve had a really good time.”
Despite the panel failing to guess the Giraffe’s true identity, there were hints dropped within the clue packages that pointed to the former teen star.
The carnival theme in Giraffe’s package hints to Brian’s rap album, “One Stop Carnival.” The racing mentions were clues to Brian winning the Celebrity Grand Prix in 2010. The bird on his shoulder even represented Robin, his childhood friend and neighbor.

We see a ship called the USS Big Bird, a film projector, a candle while she talks about how her parents sacrificed a lot to help her live out her dreams.

Jellyfish: Episode 9 – ‘Don’t Stop Now’ by Dua Lipa
Image Credit: Fox Being on “The Masked Singer” is a dream for Jellyfish because she and her “number crunching” sister are superfans.
In the clue package, her sister appears in a pantsuit with a calculator reading “57714.” If that is a reference to a zip code, it’s Allen, South Dakota for anyone interested in looking into that.
There are various other office supplies and her sister mentions that Jellyfish has already “ticked off” people, which makes me wonder if she’s a TikTok star.
We also see a nail file and Jellyfish singing in a karaoke bar.

Jellyfish: Chloe Kim
Image Credit: Fox She is the youngest-ever Olympic gold medal winner in snowboarding and that achievement landed her on Time magazine’s list of the 100 Most Influential People of 2018. We know one of this season’s celebrities on “The Masked Singer” has made that roster and is an Olympic gold medalist.
While the Jellyfish lives in warm water, she confesses to being cold-blooded and competitive. Her declaration of “Brrr” coupled with that image of powder (another name for snow) has us thinking that the celebrity must be someone associated with winter. The Jellyfish costume reveals the contestant has an athletic physique.
The Jellyfish is seen wearing a tiara; Chloe is definitely the queen of her sport, reigning over it as the first female snowboarder to win all four major championships: World, Olympic, Youth Olympic, and X Games.
The Jellyfish admits she swapped her crown for “glowjella,” which we read as a play on the place Coachella, home to an annual musical festival where Chloe has been seen. Indeed she posted pics from her time there on Instagram. Chloe has upwards of half a million followers on this social media outlet; the first clues video included a shot of “Instaclam.”
-
Jellyfish: Chloe Kim (Revealed in Episode 10)
Image Credit: Fox The panelists applauded her for improving with each week and showing the true heart of a champion. In 2018 Chloe became the youngest female ever to win a gold medal in snowboarding. That same year Time magazine named her one of the 100 most influential people.
Although Ken was the only panelist to correctly guess Chloe’s identity, her clue packages have been dropping hints for weeks.
The Tic-Tac-Toe board with four X’s is a clue to Chloe being a four-time X-Games gold medalist.
The gold throne with gold pipes was a hint to Chloe’s Olympic gold medal for the half pipe.
The angelfish was a nod to Chloe’s cameo in the 2019 film, “Charlie’s Angels.”

As for why she wanted to perform as Lips? “First of all, they’re fabulous. I can’t sing, I can’t dance, but I know how to have fun!”
Aside from her recognizable voice, hints throughout Lips’ clue package helped Jenny and Nicole realize Wendy was hiding inside. The fire in Lips’ package was a clue to the segment “Hot Topics” on Wendy’s talk show and her autobiography: “Wendy’s Got the Heat.” The #12 jersey in Lips’ package was a clue to Wendy’s birthplace of New Jersey and her talk show airing its 12th season. The “West Wing” clue was a reference to her initials.

The Mushroom admits he has turned one of his hobbies into a lucrative business. Jordan is a veteran video gamer and has amassed a following of almost half a million on Twitch; his fans call themselves his Fish Fam.
The first clues video for the Mushroom made mention of his many hats; besides being an all-around talent who acts, sings and dances Jordan is an entrepreneur who sold merchandise, including hats.
The image of a panel of judges sitting against a starry backdrop just has to reference another reality competition series, “Dancing with the Stars.” Jordan won the silver anniversary edition of that show in 2017.

Seahorse: Tori Kelly
Image Credit: Fox Tori Kelly came to fame as a contestant on “American Idol,” making it to the semi-finals of season 9 back in 2010. Five years later, her debut studio disc, “Unbreakable Smile,” hit number two on the Billboard 200 chart and she reaped a Grammy bid for Best New Artist. Her sophomore album, “Hiding Place,” won her two Grammy Awards in 2019 for Best Gospel Album and Best Gospel Performance/Song (“Never Alone” with Kirk Franklin). Collectively, the 16 contestants on “The Masked Singer” have amassed 46 Grammy nominations.
We see the Seahorse sipping some tea; Tori has staged virtual concerts with other singers under the umbrella title, “QuaranTEA.” And for those that argue it was coffee in the cup, we also know that Tori likes her caffeine. She even penned a song called “Coffee,” which is featured on her third album, “Inspired By True Events.”
Sitting around the campfire we saw three animals that Tori has a connection with: a frog (she did a duet with Kermit of his signature song “Rainbow Connection” on the 2016 TV special “Disneyland 60”); a poodle (she often posts pics of her pup on Instagram) and a dove (she had a hit with the track “City Dove”). And Tori is unapologetic about her love for all things Harry Potter, which was referenced by that photo of a hog covered in warts (Hogwarts is the name of Harry’s school).

Seahorse: Tori Kelly (Revealed in Episode 10)
Image Credit: Fox “I’ve always thought of myself as just a singer. I thought it would be fun to just come out here and show a whole other side of myself. Be a little more sassy! Show some choreography. I can’t be as sassy anymore, I have to go back to being myself.”
When asked about the telescope clue in one of her packages, the singer explained, “The telescope was because I was on ‘Star Search’ when I was 10.”
Also, a frog in the clue package was a nod to when she sang “Rainbow Connection” with Kermit the Frog.
The clocks with wings in Seahorse’s package were a clue for Tori’s single, “Time Flies.”
The double lasso was a hint to Tori’s two Grammy wins.
The Christmas wreath was a nod to Tori’s recently released album, “A Tori Kelly Christmas.”

It’s very different from what I do on a day-to-day basis, but something I’ll never forget for the rest of my life. The patients often times turn on the television while they’re in their hospital beds. Coming in and watching ‘The Masked Singer,’ putting a smile on their face, it’s an incredible way for us to move forward together. I’m just happy to play a small part and humbled.”
Only Nicole Scherzinger was able to guess the Serpent’s true identity, but there were several hints throughout the clue packages that were pointing the panelists to Dr. Elvis.
The scrubs, ambulance and x-rays in Serpent’s packages were clues to Dr. Elvis’ career as an orthopedic surgeon. Serpent’s milk bottle on wheels is a nod to Dr. Elvis’ performance at the Indy 500, where the celebratory drink is milk. The “Imagine” mention was a hint to the 2020 viral video of Dr. Elvis singing “Imagine” to hospital patients. The recurring peanut butter, bacon and banana clues were hints to Dr. Elvis’ namesake, Elvis Presley, and his favorite sandwich.

Squiggly Monster: Bob Saget
Image Credit: Fox Before the Squiggly Monster sang, we thought it was a woman based on the sneak peek clues video: Jodie Sweetin, who came to fame on “Full House.” But we realized we were wrong and that it was Sweetin’s TV dad, Bob Saget.
Sweetin and Saget both starred in “Full House” and the recent reboot “Fuller House.” Between these, Saget appeared as Danny Tanner in almost 300 half-hour installments; as a group, this season’s contestants have appeared in a staggering 5,475 episodes of television.
The Squiggly Monster observed, “It’s very fitting I have all these appendages. After all, I’m known for having a lot of hands to latch on too.” Among the lyrics in the catchy “Full House” theme song is a line about “hands to hold onto.”
We saw the Squiggly Monster having a party for their dog, something Saget’s and Sweetin’s character did on “Full House” much to the delight of their fans.
In the new clues video, we get even more visual hints that this is someone connected to “Full House”: there was a DJ, which just happens to be the name of another Tanner daughter; and there were shots of chocolate chip cookies, the favorite snack of the baby of the family, Michelle.
The Squiggly Monster made mention of using his voice for something other than singing; Saget was the narrator of the long-running TV comedy “How I Met Your Mother.”
And the celebrity inside this costume admits to being “a patchwork of personas” including “the father-figure and the scoundrel”; Saget still shocks people with his X-rated stand-up routine that is a far cry from the family friendly TV comedy for which he is best known.
-
Squiggly Monster: Bob Saget (Revealed in Episode 6)
Image Credit: Fox “What you guys do here is why I wanted to do this,” the “Full House” actor revealed during his unmasked interview. “We’re all going through a tough time. I get to be part of your joy and it’s needed so bad. They said, ‘You want to be Squiggly Monster?’ They sent me a picture and I said, ‘Yeah!'”
Along with his quirky sense of humor and familiar voice, the panelists were able to solve the mystery behind Squiggly Monster’s identity with the help of hints from his clue packages.
The “slips and falls” in Squiggly Monster’s package were clues to Bob hosting the TV show “America’s Funniest Home Videos.” The “1/100 Lives” was a clue to the game show “1 vs. 100” that Bob hosted.
Bob and Ken Jeong had been communicating about “The Masked Singer” over texts, but the continuously off-base panelist had no idea his friend had agreed to do the show. “Ken’s been texting me, ‘Hey, would you ever want to come by?'” Bob explained. “And I went, ‘No, I’m really busy.'” Then Ken revealed that Bob was one of his biggest supporters when he started out doing comedy at The Laugh Factory many years ago.

Collectively, the contestants have 23 platinum records.
In one of the clues videos, we see a pair of mouse ears which must mean Disney. LeAnn has several ties to the house built by the mouse, including filming her first TV special at the Magic Kingdom in Orlando back in 1997. She was part of the golden anniversary special for Disneyland in 2005 and her cover of the park’s anthem, “Remember When” was played everyday for a year during the fireworks. In another, we see balloons; LeAnn has sung at several concerts that were part of hot air balloon festivals.
The Sun said she “knows how to shine like a torch even in the freezing winter.” LeAnn performed “Light The Fire Within” during the opening ceremonies of the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City.

Whatchamacallit’s final clue is that he’s already won a championship.
Judges Guesses: Carmelo Anthony, Lonzo Ball, J.B. Smoove.
-
Whatchamacalit: Lonzo Ball
Image Credit: Fox We are certain that Whatchamacallit is an athlete (after all, who else could carry off that cumbersome costume) and the most likely jock at this point is NBA all-star Lonzo Ball, who stands 6’6″ tall.
Ball, who plays point guard, was recruited by the Los Angeles Lakers in 2017. Among those in the head office of the Lakers operation at the time was one of the franchise’s most celebrated players, Magic Johnson; that would certainly fit the clue that Whatchamacallit had a “magical” start to his career.
Several photos call to mind Ball’s earlier teams. The chinos must be a reference to Chino Hills High School in southern California (where Ball had a 4.o GPA, which is seen on the clock) while the bear is the mascot of the UCLA Bruins, which is part of the Pac-12 (that number is also on the clock).
In 2019, Ball signed a lucrative deal to play for the New Orleans Pelicans that has already netted him more than $25 million in just two seasons. The contestants on “The Masked Singer” can brag of a combined worth of almost $400 million. There were several visual references that also pointed us in this direction: the number “2” on the clock (that is on Ball’s jersey) and the shot of shrimp (a delicacy associated with NoLa).
Ball loves to sing so much that he has even recorded two albums: “Born 2 Ball” in 2018 and “BBA (Bounce Back Album)” earlier this year. Both discs made it onto the charts, with the first including the hit single “Melo Ball 1.”
Lonzo’s family ties in to two of the clues: his younger brother, LiAngelo Ball, has the nickname “Gelo” (which is said just like the dessert Jell-O, which popped up in the clues video). And his outspoken father, LeVar Ball, could well be said to outshine him when it comes to time in the spotlight.
-
Whatchamacallit: Lonzo Ball (Revealed in Episode 8)
Image Credit: Fox “I love music and I love performing,” Lonzo explained during his unmasked interview with host Nick Cannon. “This kind of brought it all together. And I know my mom watches this so it’s going to definitely put a smile on her face when she sees me.” When asked what the best part of being Whatchamacallit was, the New Orleans Pelican point g responded, “Just coming out here and doing what I love to do without anybody judging me and not knowing who I am. I had a lot of fun performing for y’all.”
There were numerous hints within the clue packages pointing the panelists in the right direction. The three bees and three “B” notes in Whatchamacallit’s packages are clues to Big Baller Brand, Lonzo’s apparel and shoe company. The gelatin and marshmallows in his packages are nods to Lonzo’s brothers “Gelo” and “Melo.” The panther and jets were hints to the NFL teams Lonzo’s father, Lavar, once played for. Whatchamacallit’s children’s book clue is a nod to Lonzo’s Facebook reality show, “Ball in the Family.”
