The ninth installment of Fox’s reality TV juggernaut “The Masked Singer” premiered on Wednesday, February 15, 2023 with Nick Cannon returning as host. All four regular judges are also back as celebrity sleuths/panelists: Robin Thicke, Jenny McCarthy, Ken Jeong and Nicole Scherzinger. This edition will have weekly themes, and Fox has already released 21 high-res photos of the new costumes: Axolotl, California Roll, Dandelion, Doll, Fairy, Gargoyle, Gnome, Jackalope, Lamp, Macaw, Mantis, Medusa, Moose, Mustang, Night Owl, Polar Bear, Rock Lobster, Scorpion, Squirrel, UFO and Wolf. The secret celebs hiding underneath these colorful masks will be revealed throughout Spring 2023. Who is your early favorite?
Just like last year, this season will crown a champion at the end of each episode, while the other participants will be forced to unmask — unless, that is, the judges decide to ring the “Ding Dong Keep It On” Bell. That power, which can be used once per group, will allow a contestant to keep their mask on and return in a special episode where they’ll try to rejoin the competition. She has appeared in numerous films and television shows, including her own comedies, a late-night talk show, daytime talk and “Donnie Loves Jenny,” a cable docu-series she also executive-produced. She has hosted countless live events, specials and award shows, from the “American Music Awards” to “New Year’s Rockin’ Eve.” A New York Times best-selling author, McCarthy has written nine books on topics ranging from pregnancy and motherhood to sex and growing up Catholic. She also hosted “The Jenny McCarthy Show,” a daily radio show on SiriusXM. McCarthy is a successful entrepreneur, having created and launched countless brands throughout her career, most recently her Blondies line of gluten-free ready-to-drink cocktails and a new cosmetic line, Formless Beauty.

Since his feature film debut in 2007, playing the doctor in “Knocked Up,” Jeong has gone on to create memorable roles on both TV and film. In addition to being a panelist on THE MASKED SINGER, Jeong is the host and executive producer of I CAN SEE YOUR VOICE. When both of these shows aired on FOX Wednesdays, the network declared each week’s viewings as #Kensday.

JUDGE: Nicole Scherzinger

She has sold millions of records around the world and her versatility as a performer has brought her to stages across the globe, from stadiums to London’s West End, where she garnered a nomination for an Olivier Award for Best Actress In A Supporting Role in “Cats.” In 2018, she was personally invited by Andrea Bocelli to perform alongside him during his two sold-out shows at Madison Square Garden. She was a judge on both the U.K. and U.S. versions of “The X Factor,” playing an influential part in the formation of international successes, such as One Direction and James Arthur. Along with her role on FOX’s THE MASKED SINGER, she is a judge on “Australia’s Got Talent.” Outside of entertainment, Scherzinger is an ambassador for UNICEF and a Global Ambassador for the Special Olympics.
