‘The Masked Singer’ Spoilers: Season 1

Fox’s “The Masked Singer” premiered as an instant hit on January 2, 2019. Hosted by Nick Cannon, the reality TV show tasks 12 mystery celebrities with dressing up in extravagant costumes and singing in front of a studio audience and a panel of judges: Ken Jeong, Jenny McCarthy, Nicole Scherzinger and Robin Thicke. Hippo

On Episode 1, Hippo was revealed to be Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown.

“This was a challenge,” Brown told Cannon at the end of the episode. “You know, it was a challenge being able to stay on beat, but it was exciting. I was glad to be a part of and I had a good time today.” None of the judges correctly guessed that Brown was behind the mask.

Pineapple

On Episode 2, Pineapple was revealed to be comedy legend Tommy Chong.

When Cannon asked Chong what made him dress up like a Pineapple on national TV, Chong replied, “Anything to get on stage.” Only one judge — Jenny McCarthy — correctly guessed that Chong was behind the mask.

Deer

On Episode 3, Deer was revealed to be NFL personality Terry Bradshaw.

The two-time Super Bowl MVP and sports broadcaster said that his time on the show was “so stressful” and he even thanked everyone “for voting me off.” He then added with a smile, “It’s been so much fun!” Several of the judges guessed that he was hiding behind the Deer mask, with Robin Thicke saying he recognized Bradshaw’s trademark shoulder laugh.

Poodle

On Episode 4, Poodle was revealed to be comedienne Margaret Cho.

Amazingly, none of the panelists guessed that Cho was behind the mask, not even Ken Jeong who played her brother on television for years.

Unicorn

On Episode 5, Unicorn was revealed to be actress/author Tori Spelling.

Only one judge, Ken Jeong, correctly guessed that the “hills” clues referred to Spelling’s TV show “Beverly Hills, 90210.” Spelling’s physical clue was a typewriter, which turned out to belong to her late father Aaron Spelling.

Raven

On Episode 6, Raven was revealed to be talk show host Ricki Lake.

Robin Thicke was the only panelist who correctly guessed that Lake was hiding behind the mask. She dedicated her journey to her late husband who passed away the previous year.

Alien

On Episode 7, Alien was revealed to be legendary artist La Toya Jackson.

Both Nicole Scherzinger and Robin Thicke guessed correctly that Jackson was hiding behind the mask. Jackson later told Nick Cannon, “It felt wonderful being anonymous.”

Lion

On Episode 8, Lion was revealed to be actress/singer Rumer Willis.

None of the judges correctly guessed her identity, as they were thrown off by the girl group clues. Willis said that joined the show because she wanted to prove to everyone that she could sing as well as dance.

Rabbit

Also on Episode 8, Rabbit was revealed to be NSYNC member Joey Fatone.

Both Nicole Scherzinger and Robin Thicke guessed correctly that Fatone was hiding behind the mask. Fatone later joked, “What the f*** am I doing?” referring to the absurdity of the reality TV show.

Bee

In the Season 1 finale on February 27, Bee was revealed to be the Empress of Soul, Gladys Knight.

Robin Thick, Jenny McCarthy and Nicole Scherzinger all guessed correctly that Knight was hiding behind the Bee mask. Ken Jeong was the only panelist who got it wrong.

Peacock

Also in the February 27 finale, Peacock was revealed to be Las Vegas legend Donny Osmond.

Only Jenny McCarthy correctly guessed that Osmond was hiding behind the Peacock mask. The other panelists were split between Neil Patrick Harris and Weird Al Yankovic.

Monster

On February 27, 2019, the winner of Season 1 was revealed to be the fuzzy one-eyed Monster, aka rapper T-Pain.

Amazingly, none of the judges correctly guessed Monster’s identity, however host Nick Cannon claimed he knew T-Pain was under the mask from early on in the competition.

When is Season 2?
