Anthony Riley

At the time of Anthony’s blind audition in the eighth season he earned the “fastest four-chair turn in series history” with his cover of “I Got You (I Feel Good).” In the Battles he remained on Team Pharrell after winning with “Get Ready,” but then withdrew from the competition to focus on his personal health.
Anthony passed away on June 5, 2015 by suicide at the age of 28.

Christina Grimmie

Christina finished third in Season 6 as a member of Team Adam Levine. She was the very first blind audition of her season and joined Adam’s team after all four coaches turned their chairs for her rendition of “Wrecking Ball,” which she sang again in the finale. In the second week of the playoffs, Christina really hit her stride in the competition, rising to #4 on the iTunes singles chart with her cover of “Hold On, We’re Going Home” that week and then #5 the following week with “How to Love.”
Christina passed away on June 10, 2016 at the age of 22 after being fatally shot while signing autographs following a performance in Orlando, Florida.

Beverly McClellan

Beverly was a finalist on the first season as a member of Team Christina Aguilera. She joined Christina’s team after both her and Adam turned their chairs based on the performance of “Piece of My Heart.” Beverly advanced to the finals based on the public’s vote for her renditions of “I’m the Only One” in week one of the live shows and “The Thrill Is Gone” in the semifinals.
Beverly passed away on October 30, 2018 at the age of 49 after being diagnosed with endometrial cancer earlier that year.

Janice Freeman

Janice was the first artist to ever join Team Miley Cyrus following her standout blind audition of “Radioactive.” Janice remained on Miley’s team through the Battles and Knockouts and up until she was shockingly eliminated in Week 2 of the live shows. Miley and Janice remained close even after the show and Miley has vowed to support her family after her unexpected passing due to a blood clot on March 2, 2019 at the age of 33.
