‘Island At War’ (2004)
Image Credit: ITV/REX/Shutterstock Sam Heughan’s first big break came in this miniseries about the Nazi occupation of the Channel Islands during WWII. He would co-star along with another actress before her breakthrough role, Joanne Froggatt (“Downton Abbey”).

‘Plague Over England’ (2009)
Image Credit: Alastair Muir/REX/Shutterstock A play about a real-life incident concerning actor John Gielgud being arrested for lewd behavior and about the changing perception of homosexuals in the last 50 years. Heughan played pretty boy Gregory.

‘Breaking the Mould’ (2009)

‘Doctors’ (2009)

‘Any Human Heart’ (2010)

Heughan worked with well-established actors and some fellow up-and-comers: Jim Broadbent, Gillian Anderson, Hayley Atwell and Sam Claflin. But this is the first time he would collaborate with his “Outlander” co-star Tobias Menzies.
