Maybe this is the year Sterling K. Brown finally wins again. I was arguing during summer that he could be higher than we originally thought, because he wasn’t against Ventimiglia for the first time and didn’t get dropped at SAG, and Cephas-Jones win kinda indicates that for me. With Succession actors and possibly Bateman gone, the category is wide open. Billy Porter and Steve Carell are more than likely returning, but I doubt they are win competitive. Rhys looks like Brown’s only opponent.
And i’d die if Justin Hartley suddenly got a Lead Actor nom (due to barren field) after struggling in Supporting for 4 years (provided Ventimiglia goes Supporting).October 31, 2020 at 5:29 am #1203812737
I watched both seasons of The Boys. So entertaining. Antony Starr is a star! Now watching: The Great. Also entertaining. Incredibly explicit, but fun.
Finished The Great. Huzzah!
The show is very witty and well-scripted. Nicholas Hoult steals the show and Elle Fanning is equally intriguing. The rest of the cast, particularly Gwilym Lee, Belinda Bromilow, Phoebe Fox, Adam Godley and Sacha Dhawan, is almost equally as good as the leads. And… uhm why didn’t it dominate at the Emmys!?October 31, 2020 at 5:29 am #1203812735
Watched The Great and it’s very good plus both leads are outstanding. Now i’m torn between it vs Ted Lasso vs Schitt’s Creek for Comedy/ Musical Series.
The Great looks like a show the Golden Globes would embrace. But Ted Lasso (my personal favorite) seems to be more popular with and liked by general audiences and it’s more new so that’s something. I’m personally rooting against Schitt’s Creek (because i’ve never seen it).October 28, 2020 at 12:57 pm #1203808104

Felt like a “Jon Snow’ moment haha. Marvelous return, the second part of the premiere (a.k.a episode 2) was stronger. The script was great and I honestly think it’s already a good candidate for a Writing submission. They really gave all the actors good material to work with. Justin Hartley is a solidified lead, and with potential storylines coming up, he has undoubtedly overtaken Milo’s prominence in the show. Sterling K. Brown continues to show us why he’s so respected, acclaimed and always nominated. He had some heavy stuff to work with and he, unsurprisingly, murdered it… duh! I liked the scene with Malik and Randall but I wish we had a moment with Randall and Malik’s dad instead. Chrissy Metz was magnificent as always.
Every main character had one or two stand-out moments. Miguel, I feel, will be more prominent this season than he’s ever been. For the first time ever, we saw him and Rebecca kiss and confess their love to each other, which was delightful. I loved Rebecca’s monologue at the hospital and Milo’s performance at the chapel, probably my favorite scene of the episode(s). Beth is always a mood and I hope she has an actual arc this season unlike the last where she was mainly in the background.
And as I said above, Jermel Nakia doesn’t get enough credit. Hopefully he finally lands a Guest nod. This was his strongest episode since season 1’s “Memphis”. I guess Pamela Adlon won’t be returning anymore?
Besides the script and the performances, the editing was the best thing about this episode. Remarkable as always.
So… is Kevin and Madison a thing now? when did they fall in love?October 26, 2020 at 9:55 am #1203803329
Culkin is good and deserved a nomination. He got 2 consecutive nominations. It wasn’t “random”.October 25, 2020 at 10:13 am #1203801539

Funny thing is Harry’s solo debut is miles better than Fine Line and he got zero nods for the former.
This is false. Fine Line is his best work.
NO HES NOT LMAO
You will see. He is not below second place, I promise you.October 24, 2020 at 10:58 am #1203800267

Wow… July? will we even be guaranteed new episodes weekly at this point? I wonder how many will air before the winter hiatus.
