Daily reminders that HitsDD is trash at grammy coverage and is currently predicting Roxanne in ROTY as well as Juice in AOTY. As for the soundtrack compilation, I’m also having a lot of difficulty coming up with 5 possibile nominees. Does anyone have any ideas for this?
Could Labrinth’s score for Euphoria make it in? There’s hype after the Zendaya win, but I don’t know if it technically qualifies. Does it have to be a movie soundtrack?September 23, 2020 at 12:24 pm #1203730382
If Fiona is nominated, she’d be this year’s Lana Del Rey / Lorde. The critically acclaimed artist with a ton of cult support who has little to no chance of winning.
Im leaning towards FKA Twigs being the Lana / Lorde. Album would be her only nomination.September 23, 2020 at 10:06 am #1203730031
Has anyone seen Miley Cyrus’s cover of “Heart of Glass”? She sounds incredible.
She’s always had one of my favorite voices in the industry, but she’s struggled to find the genre that fits her. Pop is obviously where the money is, but I hope she decides to take an artistic route and venture into rock for the next record. Her voice would be phenomenal with rock.September 23, 2020 at 8:21 am #1203729780
I’d love to see The Weeknd win AOTY as he’s been one of the most prominent musicians of the last decade, but I’m not convinced he will be able to pull it off yet.September 16, 2020 at 6:57 pm #1203711740
Saw some pictures of her on Twitter. She looks goooooood.September 14, 2020 at 8:13 am #1203705053
In my mind, this is how I see Pop Vocal:
1. Taylor, by a large margin.
4. Post Malone
I think Dua and Harry are battling for number two, but I have Harry ahead because he has the bigger album and two big singles compared to Dua’s one monster single and not-so-big album. However, Dua’s album has better reviews and I’m sure she will campaign hard which may boost her past Harry. Also, if Break My Heart continues to rise that may help her since Harry doesn’t have another single lined up yet.
Post and Gaga are vulnerable depending on how and if they continue to keep themselves relevant. We could get a random passion pick, but since there isn’t a committee I don’t see that happening.September 14, 2020 at 6:25 am #1203704880
In a perfect world, If You’re Too Shy (Let Me Know) by The 1975 would be nominated for Record of the Year.September 14, 2020 at 6:18 am #1203704874
I think Harry will be similar to Ariana last year, getting a good amount of nominations but coming home empty-handed.September 13, 2020 at 10:48 am #1203703268
The last two years everyone underestimated H.E.R in the GF. This year, everyone is assuming that she will be in Record/Song, so I want to say she will miss.September 12, 2020 at 6:39 pm #1203702257
Savage is more likely than WAP. Not necessarily because of Beyoncé but simply because it’s way more digestible. It’s just sassy while WAP is straight up trashy (in an infectuous and enjoyable way but still)
I agree. I just think WAP is getting too big to ignore. It’s been an Event from the moment it dropped, and the fact it’s stable on the charts helps its chances at the Grammys.
