Am I the only one who thinks that Colman can actually win this ?November 11, 2021 at 11:12 am #1204572102
I kind of want Frances to win just for the epic meltdowns. She is winning a fourth Oscar for Best Actress down the line anyway, right ?November 8, 2021 at 4:48 pm #1204565872
Benazir Bhutto maybe ?September 16, 2021 at 2:57 am #1204462835
Emma Stone should have won for The FavouriteSeptember 14, 2021 at 11:37 am #1204459395
I think Cate would have featured on more stills is she were to go lead.August 17, 2021 at 11:52 am #1204400824
I think Kidman wanted to do a couple of mainstream TV shows that could potentially be rating hits before tackling more serious and prestige fare like Things I know to be true and Hope.August 7, 2021 at 1:22 am #1204385306
Cate is indeed winning a third at some point, but I’m almost certain she’s not winning for Nightmare Alley. It doesn’t look like a winning role to me.
I haven’t heard any update on the Todd Field project since it was announced so who knows what’s happening with that.
Armageddon Time starts shooting this October but her part is said to be almost a cameo, still she might get traction for this a la Jane Fonda in Youth.August 7, 2021 at 1:16 am #1204385304
Is the any new vehicle that powerful enough to bring Huppert into the contention soon?
Apparently she is being considered for the leading role in The Mother to be directed by Florian Zeller based on his play. She’s already played the part on stage in New York.
But I don’t think her upcoming projects (Joan, Les Promesses, Sidonie au Japon…) will bring her back to the Oscar conversation.May 1, 2021 at 11:25 am #1204238264
I’m not convinced Gyllenhaal is ever winning. For some reason the Academy doesn’t seem to care about him. I’d love to be proven wrong though.April 30, 2021 at 3:11 pm #1204236905
I think SAG is the organization least likely to go for The Northman. It seems wild and dark and brutal and violent, something the SAG population wouldn’t really gravitate towards despite the quality of its cast.
You’re right. I think it will get a cinematography nom at the Oscars and that’s it. It’s probably too niche.April 30, 2021 at 2:52 pm #1204236819
