I’m watching Pen15 season 2 for the second time and its so good. Shower this with emmys next year please television academy!
Also, finally finished Homeland. That last season is really good but the coda in the finale was absolutely ridiculous.September 21, 2020 at 7:13 am #1203725097
I wonder if Netflix will put an awards push for this movie this year, next year or at all. $30 million is a lot to not do that.September 20, 2020 at 8:16 pm #1203723916
Apparently Schitt’s Creek was the only comedy on tv last year.September 20, 2020 at 11:04 am #1203720566

I have too many wildcard picks, and Gold Derby’s odds have been true most times. I’m still keeping:
Yayah Abdul-Mateen II
Mahershala AliSeptember 20, 2020 at 7:26 am #1203720057
I really enjoyed the second season. I was genuinely surprised by how dramatic this season was and how well Maya Erskine and Anna Konkle were able to pull it off.
Also the younger cast really brought their a-game. Especially the actors playing Maura, Gabe, and Sam. Also, Mutsuko Erskine was wonderful as Maya’s mom (and her real-life mom). I loved that they made this season more of an ensemble show that just the two leads. It really elevated the show into greatness.
“Opening Night” is by far my favorite episode of the entire show. Emmy-worthy, it deserves nominations directing, writing, and acting for Maya Erskine.September 19, 2020 at 7:34 pm #1203719279

The Politician, Hollywood, and now Ratched…Netflix should have Ryan Murphy refund the $300 million.September 18, 2020 at 8:17 am #1203714966
I think the categories should also be consolidated for more engagement.
For categories I would do:
Album of the Year
Song of the Year
Best New Artist
*performance categories are for Solo, Duo, and Group acts
*placement in categories are based on Grammy Submissions
*Song awards are rewarded to the songwriters
*Album awards are rewarded to the artist only
*Song of the Year is awarded to the producers and writers of the songSeptember 17, 2020 at 7:35 pm #1203714271
I’ve switched Alex Borstein to Yvonne Orji and keeping Mahershala Ali at number one.September 15, 2020 at 7:39 am #1203707840
Finally up to date with Ozark. I’ll eat crow, it’s quite good. Especially season 3.
Did they get new showrunners/new writers this season? It’s almost a different show. Especially how they were able to write female characters
much better and even adding in a little bit of humor and emotional weight. Those first 15 or so episodes were so cold and lifeless, not to mention that pretentious and dreary cinematography. But Tom Pehlphrey and Laura Linney broke my heart in “Fire Pink.”
I still think the first one and a half seasons are objectively bad.September 11, 2020 at 6:07 am #1203698619
I have a feeling “Bluebird” by Miranda Lambert will fill the country/folk/americana slot in SOTY over “The Bones” or “Gaslighter”.
It’s a big radio comeback for Miranda Lambert, it’s sounds more “traditionally” country and she’s a previous winner.
I’m predicting her for SOTY, Country Solo Performance, Country Song for “Bluebird” and Country Album for Wildcard.September 8, 2020 at 8:08 pm #1203694082
