Who are the other contenders “waiting in the wings to fill out that last spot”? Just curious… I couldn’t think of any serious candidates (from albums that have already been released anyway).
Ben Platt is a Grammy Award-winning artist and highly respected in the entertainment industry (film, television, theatre and music), so it’s not exactly…[Read more]
After listening to it and seeing that it will have a massive #1 debut next week, I think I’m now onboard with the thinking that Jonas Brothers are getting into Pop Vocal Album (in addition to Pop Duo/Group for “Sucker”).
Predictions for now…
1) Billie Eilish – “Bad Guy”
2) Halsey – “Without Me”
3) Lewis Capaldi – “Someone You…[Read more]
Yeah, there is some crack-smoking going on here if anyone thinks a brief appearance by a witch on GOT deserves an Emmy over Phylicia Rashad’s fine work in This Is Us‘s “Our Little Island Girl” episode. If you haven’t seen it, please watch. Also, if the legendary Diana Rigg couldn’t win Guest Actress in a Drama Series after multiple nominations,…[Read more]
I think Janet McTeer is a darkhorse contender to be nominated! She’s a well-respected actress (2-time Academy Award-nominated, Tony winning, and former Emmy nominee!) in a killer role (literally). I think if voters watched Ozark this season they will vote for her. Her only negative is that she was more of a guest actress this season (but was…[Read more]
Don’t sleep on Lewis Capaldi! He’s the biggest new artist in the U.K. and his single “Someone You Loved” is starting to take off here in the U.S. I could easily see him getting into Song of the Year, New Artist and Pop Solo off the strength of that song alone.
I liked whoever predicted YOU for a Writing nomination. Thinking outside the box… and it could happen! Super popular series (ever since it transferred over to Netflix). It could happen for Lifetime in the same way that UnReal was able to score a nom in that category.
Are there any other out-of-left-field contenders that could surprise with a…[Read more]
While they haven’t been able to get anyone in during the last two seasons (especially last year for Alan Alda and Margo Martindale), having looked at the list of contenders this year, it seems like the Guest Acting categories (at least Guest Actor) appears to be weaker than usual, so who knows?
Plus, the Drama categories are sparse in general…[Read more]

I think the names attached to Catch-22 (George Clooney) and Fosse/Verdon (Lin-Manuel Miranda) will help them get into Miniseries. It’s going to be a bloodbath this year in that category. I’d be surprised if there wasn’t a tie leading to a 6th or even 7th nominee.
The Way I See It…
1) When They See Us
3) Escape at Danne…[Read more]
“ME!” has underperformed. Already fallen out of the Top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 and has no critical backing. Do not expect a nomination for this song.
Panic! at the Disco could very-well get a make-up nom for being snubbed for “High Hopes” last year, with a nom this year for “Hey Look Ma I Made It.”
Shawn Mendes is o…[Read more]
Ben Platt is ineligible bc he is already a Grammy Award winner (for the Dear Evan Hansen Soundtrack).
I do feel that we are lacking quality Best New Artist contenders outside a couple choices. I think the Grammys need to be like the Oscars and say they can nominate “up to” 8, but can nominate less if not enough are worthy.
At this point, I w…[Read more]
For the record, let’s all remember that sales don’t matter to Grammy voters. They never have been just about what’s popular. If they were, Beyonce would have an Album of the Year Grammy by now. Sometimes sales can help in terms of nominations, but ultimately voters vote for what they like and respect at the end of the day.
Speaking of Beyonce,…[Read more]

Honestly, what it comes down to is IF voters watch When They See Us in time. If they do, they’ll love it… and if they love it, at the very least they will name-check the following actors for nominations:
Michael K. Williams
Jharrel Jerome deserves a nomination, but because voters might not know who he…[Read more]
Just watched all 4 parts today. Gut-wrenching and amazing! By far my favorite Limited Series contender of the year! So many parts of this series just hits you like a ton of bricks. This is a devastating story told with grace, beauty and justice. And while this is truly an ensemble piece of television, I do feel like a number of actors will be…[Read more]
Everyone I know has been dissatisfied with Season 2 of Killing Eve… in large part due to the writing. The absence of PWB is greatly felt. No way is Killing Eve winning a writing award this year… probably won’t even be nominated. Drama Series nom and the 2 Lead Actress noms is enough reward for this show.
Despite my efforts to ignore p…[Read more]
Yes! It’s brand new and shinny, accessible enough (Netflix), the Comedy Series category is bound to be rejuvenated this year with a bunch of new contenders and Adam McKay is a producer on this, giving him a shot to be nominated in both Comedy Series and Drama Series (Succession) this year.
I think that because people are still discovering Killing Eve, the negative reaction to Season 2 won’t affect its Emmy chances (at least with the nominations). I can easily see the show being nominated for Drama Series this year and then dropped next year (assuming they don’t clean up their act for S3).
Sandra Oh is the front runner for Lead Act…[Read more]

After watching CATCH-22 in full, I REALLY want to see Christopher Abbott nominated in Lead Actor!!! Very deserved. I hope voters don’t just name-check a bunch of high-profile stars in that category.
