The Weeknd has stayed on top of most people’s predictions and the charts for almost the entire Grammy period. At this point I would be surprised if he didn’t either sweep the General Field and/or at least win Album of the Year and/or Record of the Year. Dua, Harry and Roddy are all too new to win. Fiona only has the great critics notices. The W…[Read more]
I’m still not confident about Ramy getting any major noms. I know it was picked up for a 3rd season, but I don’t know a single person who watches it.
Besides the Globe win and Mr. Ali joining the cast, I don’t see how the show is in that much of a better position than last year. There was no Guild support. It isn’t like Fleabag where it’s ex…[Read more]
I don’t know why, but I fully expect the Limited Series Actress category to still have 6 nominees. I understand that according to the new rules this shouldn’t be possible, however, I think the Emmys will still somehow make that happen lol.
They are known for changing their minds. Watch them clarify that they meant “with a minimum of 6 nominees…[Read more]
Happy to see The Good Fight pick up another nom for Outstanding Achievement in Drama this year (for a shortened season as well!)
Yay for Insecure and Issa Rae! Also cool to see The Great acknowledged and The Plot Against America in Miniseries.
With the domination of actors making it into Individual Achievement in Drama from miniseries, both this…[Read more]
FX’s Pose is the only drama series with a mostly or all black cast in the Emmy conversation and was nominated last year. Are most of us being foolish by believing it will be dropped from the Drama Series line-up??? I honestly can’t tell. I’m not currently predicting it, but I’m thinking about it.
The competition is just so heavy this year.
I still think Julia Garner could repeat in Supporting Actress. It’ll be interesting with 8 nominees… voters could go in any which way, but for me (without knowing who the nominees will be), I would say the race for the win is down to Julia Garner vs Helena BC vs Laura Dern vs Sarah Snook.
McTeer is fighting for a nom at this point. She can’t…[Read more]
I like Justin and his vocals were great on it, but man Changes is bad! The only exception being “Intentions.” I really hope they snub him in Pop Vocal Album.
Meanwhile LOL @ some of y’all proclaiming how much better certain artists’ albums are that have zero chance at scoring a Grammy nom. You might want to consider starting an indie pop thread.

So Variety reports that a rule change in 1997 listed under the Documentary category prevents recorded stage productions from being nominated. Interesting… but it specifically states that the rule is only listed for that category, so… I’m not quite convinced it’s ineligible (just in Best Documentary, lol).
I’m going to need Variety or whoev…[Read more]
I finally caught up with How to Get Away with Murder. In no way is Viola Davis missing out on a Lead Actress nomination. Not this year and not with that performance!
I think she could actually win a 2nd Emmy. Assuming she’s nominated, I think it will he her vs Laura Linney for the win.
I don’t think HAIM is “popular” enough to get into any of the Pop categories. They have a better shot at scoring an Album of the Year nom unfortunately. Their new album is really eclectic though and they could send submissions to pop, rock, alternative and Americana categories. Plus they have a music video or 3 directed by Oscar nominated auteu…[Read more]

video vanguard could be…
Or maybe they should just go with a director like Joseph Kahn who is world famous for doing visually stunning videos with everyone including: Taylor Swift, Aaliyah, Backstreet Boys, TLC, Eminem, Janet Jackson, Destiny’s Child, U2, Britney Spears, Chris Brown, Katy P…[Read more]
So cool! Hope this FYC campaign and free viewing helps! I mean, of all TV series (besides the limited series Watchmen), this is the most timely as to what is happening in America right now. Hope voters choose to recognize it.
I’m hoping that at the very least The Good Fight can score a nomination in Writing for a Drama Series for Robert &…[Read more]

Yes, this is eligible. I understand how movie purists would be upset by this, but who cares?
Just watched the filmed production on Disney+. It’s an A+ film. It has the reviews, critics and Hollywood on its side. All of Hollywood is a fan of Hamilton and I can’t imagine them wanting to turn a shoulder away from this even if it is a “filmed stage…[Read more]
Voters can select as many nominees to vote for as they want, so if they love Schitt’s Creek this year, who is to say they just don’t check off all of its actors’ names on their ballot?
And with 8 nominees in Supporting, why can’t the show take up 2-3 noms if it’s a leading contender for Best Comedy Series??
Eugene Levy – Likely
This race for the first time is based on a popular vote by the entire Academy instead of a selective process specifically by the music branch. Visibility will be everything and the most popular shows will get in.
I’m not sure if The Righteous Gemstones has enough viewers to secure a nom.
I think shows like The Late Late Show with James C…[Read more]
I’m struggling with Supporting Actor. There are technically a lot of returning former nominees in the mix, plus at least 4 actors looking for their first nomination that feel like must-haves.
Mandy Patinkin – Homeland
Giancarlo Esposito – Better Call Saul
Chris Sullivan – This is Us
Jonathan Banks – Better Call Saul
