No Issa Rae, yet Jay Ellis and Yvonne Orji, writing, and comedy series make it in? That snub is ridiculous.
Love seeing the recognition for “The Plot Against America,” particularly Morgan Spector. Zoe Kazan should have been nominated alongside him.

“The Invisible Man” (2020): I’m not all that interested in the horror genre, but this just recently premiered on HBO, so I watched it since it was late night and I was bored. This was an interesting twist on the Wells classic, and I can genuinely say that it maintained my interest from start to finish. Elisabeth Moss was fantastic here, which was…[Read more]
This blows such an easy sweep for Boseman in supporting actor. Stupid. That either concedes that lead Oscars are more prestigious than supporting Oscars (they are), or the Netflix strategy is to prioritize maximum nominations over potential wins. Hella ballsy move, and many will be fuming if this backfires. Supporting actor is going to be more…[Read more]

Productions were closed left and right due to the global pandemic, so that explains “Sunset Boulevard” at present. Close is a significant contender regardless at next year’s Oscars for “Hillbilly Elegy.” No point to this dumb thread whatsoever.

Trump ridiculed…[Read more]
Early voting numbers are breaking records. Here’s what we don’t know yet.

But what does it mean? Here’s the most basic nutshell…[Read more]

Atypical replied to the topic Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom (Viola Davis & Chadwick Boseman) in the forum Movies 3 days, 2 hours ago
Chadwick Boseman stole the show in the trailer, and he looked lead too.
The finale reverted to the incoherent nonsense of the early episodes, which is unfortunate given some of the series peaks in the second half. I tried harder than anyone here with this show, but that scorched ending was not worth the journey getting there. It’ll be a radically different season 2 if HBO decides to renew. I’m taking this out of most…[Read more]
