Oh oh. SAG does this, but “this” thing that they do with “that” veteran also meant Angela Bassett. So it should’ve happened for her just as much as it happened for Curtis. So, I’m scared, haha. Shit, I thought this was locked.
January 25, 2023 at 10:12 am #1205266626Diane Warren got her sixth nomination in a row. Is that a record for the category? (Not a record in general, Edith Head, for example, was nominated from 1949 to 1967 sometimes multiple times a year)
And she’ll most likely lose it, so maybe that’ll be another record? Plus her own record of being the Academy’s biggest “loser.”
ReplyJanuary 25, 2023 at 6:45 am #1205266094Jason Sudeikis didn’t define shit in 2022. Olivia Wilde made that happen when she decided to create her own controversies surrounding her film leaving her family drama behind. Sudeikis (his costar, director and show) still won Emmys *after* that child support document fiasco (which even happened during voting? Maybe?). And didn’t that nanny also come out after that with a controversy that again put Wilde in a bad place?
January 24, 2023 at 2:38 pm #1205264816The streak continues: All of Iñárritu’s films that have been elegible have gotten at least one nomination. Many thought Bardo would end the streak.
ReplyJanuary 24, 2023 at 2:11 pm #1205264695Knives Out and Glass Onion both are lone nominees in screenplay. I thought the Before trilogy did this too but only Before Midnight got a nomination.
Before Midnight and Before Sunset were nominated.
ReplyJanuary 24, 2023 at 6:35 am #1205261932Judd Hirsch might be the longest stretch in nominations, 42 years. From 1980 to 2022. Alan Arkin had the record, I think, at 38 years? And maybe the record between first and last too at 46.
ReplyJanuary 19, 2023 at 2:55 pm #1205254262I’m going for Mescal for that fifth slot. I don’t believe The Son is a real movie or that it ever came out. And there’s nobody else.
January 16, 2023 at 7:30 am #1205247692Horrible show. Insanely boring. And Brendan Fraser (a mess), Ke Huy Kuan (on the verge of Sally Fielding it), Sheryl Lee Ralph and Cate Blanchett (then don’t come, darling) need to cool it with those overblown over the top long ass pompous speeches.
My God, when even Jennifer Coolidge was like “fuck it, thank you, bye.”
ReplyJanuary 16, 2023 at 7:17 am #1205247673That Pilot was very meh. We’ve seen all of this before. The first part or set up was very “how long before Emily Blunt can’t make a sound?” Or “how long before everybody disappears except for Justin Theroux and Carrie Coon”? Or “how long before Pedro Pascal gets a Michonne in the future?”
Then “20 years later…” and where are we? Exactly where you expected.
ReplyJanuary 11, 2023 at 10:45 pm #1205238201They’re not gonna be “on Netfix.” SAGs are on Netflix’s Youtube page. Even worse.
ReplyJanuary 11, 2023 at 7:47 am #1205235757Deadline has an “Emily Hunt” as a nominee. I’ve been wondering far too long who the fuck is Emily Hunt and on what obscure TNT show she’s in to be getting this very random nomination.
It’s Emily Blunt.
January 2, 2023 at 7:21 am #1205218259Would Steve and Martin be nominated as one just like Amy and Tina or would it be different nominations?
Same situation with Amy and Tina and same good odds of finally winning if they get in together.
But that was years ago, did the rules change?

Seth Rogen (I don’t know, man)You hope for 20 years that the Globes separate the supporting categories and when they do, you can’t make up your mind cause they all seem likely and unlikely at the same time.
December 31, 2022 at 6:21 pm #1205217489From Parasite to…Elvis. Just imagine.
Please, we already went from Parasite to CODA. From Parasite to Elvis sounds so much better, and I kinda hated Elvis.
December 30, 2022 at 11:12 am #1205214361No, because none of those people were actually in contention for the win.
