For some reason I can’t upvote posts, but I completely agree with the post above. Hamm and Temple being in Fargo just makes sense. And even though the latest season was underwhelming, I do believe they can redeem themselves.

I still don’t know how I feel about this season, but weirdly, I think I prefer the episodes without the main cast. I’ve found them more capturing.

But yeah, I don’t see the show having any shot at winning an Emmy above the line. Maybe writing or directing, but it’s a competitive year on the comedy side.

Even the writer/director on Twitter warned that they didn’t know upfront this would be a mid-season finale and therefore not to expect cliffhangers, but damn! I fear for Kim now more than ever.

The cinematography was top-notch.

What’s most impressive to me is seeing an SNL alum being so good at drama.

I might jinx it by putting it out there, but I really think Odenkirk has a shot at winning Lead Actor with Succession vote-splitting and Squid Game fading.

Can we at least nominate her at our GoldDerby awards since the Emmys won’t touch the show?

As soon as they vote Maryanne out, I want her in the corner of the screen reacting to every episode.

Having two categories Guest Actor and Guest Actress in a Series seems reasonable to me. It would make limited series performances eligible.

I’d like to see shortlisted guest categories by a jury like the BAFTAs do in order to avoid name-checks and cameos. Ideally, they would ban SNL hosts from being eligible, as well.

Not that anyone cares (nor should you), but I’ll be skipping the ceremony this year, which is rare for me. It’s not just one reason, but a bunch of them, like losing interest or most importantly, the Academy itself creating a mess of the event.

I’m curious how Squid Game does at other guilds, but I suspect it doesn’t have passionate support and it will only fade before Emmy voting starts. SAG was probably its peak, but I usually don’t give SAG much weight.
