I think it might be a smart movie in terms of maximizing their nom potential. She’s freeing a supporting slot for let’s say somebody like Parker Posey, while herself being a plausible nominee with the strong show. I mean people are throwing a panned performance like Julia Garner in Inventing Anna as a contender.
ReplyMay 20, 2022 at 9:23 am #1204958037The way she’s probably not getting in now 💀
The category is absolutely tragic. She can easily get in along for the ride if The Staircase hits limited series.

May 11, 2022 at 12:00 pm #1204949214Reilly probably can get nominated in Lead, but it feels like they left an easy Supporting nom if she misses.

Viola and Gillian always looked Razzie-worthy in this.
ReplyApril 11, 2022 at 4:12 pm #1204913275Arquette honestly is so bad in this, it kinda becomes “so bad it’s good” performance and becomes immensly entertaining, which is still an improvement over most of her performances which are just bad.
ReplyApril 11, 2022 at 3:37 pm #1204913199At least Arquette won’t steal a spot in Lead with this terrible performance.
April 11, 2022 at 3:34 pm #1204913190There’s no way that Christopher Walken Guest submission is real no?
Is imdb wrong about him being in 7 out of 9 episodes?
April 5, 2022 at 12:21 pm #1204905167Most random craft nod surely must be Your Honor in Photography & Lighting: Fiction 😛
Late, but it isn’t that random, since it got nominated for British Society of Cinematographers Award (alongside Fargo, It’s a Sing, Landscapers and Pursuit of Love).
ReplyApril 3, 2022 at 4:10 pm #1204899528We can just get voters to come up with prelimenary list of like 15-20 names in Guest and have different juries for all of them.
Also we don’t need the Short Form Acting categories honestly, we could replace them with:
A. Genderless Variety Performance Category
B. Genderless Performance in a TV Movie (since they are so irrelevant by this point)For example last year category could’ve looked like this (assuming there would be enough submissions to have like 7 slots):
Christine Baranski – Dolly Parton’s Christmas on the Square (Netflix)
Paul Bettany – Uncle Frank (Prime Video)
Danielle Brooks – Robin Roberts Presents: Mahalia (Lifetime)
Joseph Gordon-Levitt – 7500 (Prime Video)
Andrew Scott – Oslo (HBO)
Tessa Thompson – Sylvie’s Love (Prime Video)
Ruth Wilson – Oslo (HBO)And Variety Performance category could’ve been like:
Reply
Bo Burnham – Bo Burnham: Inside (Netflix)
Daveed Diggs – Hamilton (Disney+)
Lin-Manuel Miranda – Hamilton (Disney+)
Leslie Odom Jr. – Hamilton (Disney+)
John Oliver – The Last Week Tonight with John Oliver (HBO)
Maya Rudolph – Saturday Night Live (NBC)
Bowen Yang – Saturday Night Live (NBC)April 3, 2022 at 4:09 pm #1204899510How in the world could Evermore win when it had to be forced into the nomination last minute to begin with? It would make no sense unless there’s some bribery/corruption going on.
The same way Peter Scolari won an Emmy for Girls ig.
April 3, 2022 at 3:00 pm #1204898435Kill the unlimited ballot. Honestly switching to Oscar-esque preferential balloting as an experinment would be interesting.
At this point it’s clear Guest categories should be juried.
