Kate Winslet. She can win Leading Actress again and also can win Supporting Actress
ReplyMarch 9, 2021 at 5:26 am #1204097709Well who takes her place if she is snubbed? Zendaya? Rosamund Pike? Yeri Han?
I don’t say she’ll get snubbed at the Oscars. But I don’t think she’ll win SAG.
Just… read
March 9, 2021 at 5:10 am #1204097660That’s what you would’ve responded to someone if they told you Blunt was winning two years ago. She was 4th in the odds and the rest is history.
Well if Kirby snubbed, she can win like Idris Elba and Blunt did
March 6, 2021 at 7:10 am #1204087702Haha, whatever helps you sleep at night.
I don’t know what you want to say.
PYW will be completely snubbed or Viola Davis will win the Oscar over Mulligan??
ReplyMarch 6, 2021 at 6:23 am #1204087626Most of the picks were already the frontrunners…
Malek, Colman, Rockwell, Janney, and Rylance weren’t.

Bold … Oscar winner / [] … Australian actors or film
AACTA people vote the Oscars, and not as huge as BAFTAs, but this means something
ReplyMarch 1, 2021 at 1:33 am #1204072591I’m loving the meltdowns… Carey Mulligan’s loss is a step closer to her Oscar snub. She’s this year’s JLo: a great performance, but a movie that won’t please AMPAS toxic males. In my predictions, PYW only gets a nod in Best Original Screenplay. And I’m still Andra Day all the way. I LOVE that performance
Too too different. Promising Young Woman is Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actress, and Best Original Screenplay contender.
Hustler is not. It only had a chance for Best Supporting Actress.

Foreign Language – Another RoundFebruary 28, 2021 at 4:19 am #1204066085Han is not going to happen. She is an unknown foreign actress delivering a foreign language performance and received literally no nominations so far nor longlists placements even where Minari did great overall. Don’t try to compare her to Yalitza who got CC and was always in the awards conversation, doing magazine covers etc. It’s Day vs Adams, no need to overthink.
It’s not that simple. Specially before the BAFTAs.
February 27, 2021 at 11:36 pm #1204065806BAFTA nominations are announced right in the middle of Oscar nomination voting. The overlap of members can help us see what the Brits are leaning towards.
And so many of BAFTA members also vote for the Oscars
February 27, 2021 at 8:19 pm #1204065605Youn wasn’t nominated, so you’re wrong here. Reply0IGNOREReport SPAMCopy URLQuote
Colman was far better than other contenders in 2018.
Critics Choice tried to predict Oscar winners, and they just thought it was either Gaga or Close.
SAG members also thought it was Close’s year like Julianne Moore for Still Alice. And I think The Favourite should have been nominated for Best Ensemble, but it wasn’t. So the film itself wasn’t seen or recognised enough at the SAGs.
