I have been thinking the same thing about Faist. In an interview he did with Vanity Fair a few weeks ago I think he mentioned going back home in Ohio to be with/help his family. Just watched The Tragedy of Macbeth, and felt Hunter really stole the show. I was always waiting for her to come back on screen. She would be a very deserving nominee.

I would take these SAG screenings with a grain of salt though. I was at a (mostly entirely SAG) SAG screening for The Lost Daughter with a Q&A. Most of these heavy hitters had screenings/Q&A with SAG, but SAG has a lot of members so I feel like it could go anywhere…

I think it’s moreso the international support that Colman and Cruz are very likely to have. Plus Sony (Parallel Mothers) usually runs a great campaign, and don’t underestimate the power of TLD being on Netflix. I think Colman is almost a lock for a nomination, and Cruz is less secure but it feels like she’s happening.

I feel like whenever there is a “clear” frontrunner who is essentially sweeping, there are always haters who are pressed that their faves aren’t winning anything. I don’t know how many people are actually predicting Tessa, but I think we all are hoping for a surprise. I think I would have her in my top 2 of the year in this category.

I’ll be curious to see if the Globes winners will have a positive or negative effect on the rest of the season. She’s not getting snubbed. She won Gotham and has 3 runner-up critic wins, it’s not like she has zero passion.
