The only seemingly competitive film I’m rooting for so far is Dune Part Two. Hopefully this year is like last and we get films like Everything Everywhere and Top Gun Maverick that becomes out-of-nowhere Oscar contenders (I could see Indiana Jones 5 being this year’s Top Gun Maverick if the reviews are great)

This is sad news for me. TAR was the first Todd Field film I’d seen and it singlehandedly made me a fan of him. I was really looking forward to his next film, whenever it was. At least it’s not a certainty yet.
