Lets just move to the 2022 Oscar race, so much more exciting and interesting. When a snoozefest like Nomadland is the front runner it tells you everything you need to know about this awards season.

ReplyFebruary 23, 2021 at 11:51 pm #1204058122I think Margot Robbie is going to win Best Actress. She’s at the perfect point in her career to win and DOR has directed 3 Oscar winning performances.
People really trying with Robbie. She’s already gotten away with a nomination for a subpar performance. That’s enough!
ReplyFebruary 18, 2021 at 2:34 am #1204047871Like……..no. Robbie doesn’t deserve it, she’s just suddenly It Girl based on very little. There are a million actors out there who’ve proved themselves far more. They cast Robbie in Oscar bait films because right now they think it’s profitable. But if you want quality work…what about the Christina Riccis of the world? Jena Malone? Linda Cardellini? Keri Russell? Evan Rachel Wood? Lizzie Caplan? Mireille Enos? Margaret Qualley? I know I’m spanning a lot of older actors, but these are literally just names off the top of my head of actors who have proven themselves over years and years and years, and yet somehow Margot freaking Robbie is entitled to these parts. This is an industry problem. At any given moment, they’re using the same stars over and over again. It’s how a bajillion actors put decades in until they’re appreciated, it’s how the same names come up ever year for Oscar consideration. It’s how Amy Adams plumped up her resume, getting cast in Best Picture films year after year. It is not surprising that people would get irritated by all that unfounded attention, especially in a world where they’re inundated with TV and film on streaming where the see a constellation of other excellent actors and wonder “aw I wish she/he got more attention”. It’s a very natural freaking reaction!
Put some respect on Cristin Milioti’s name.

You counter with this terrible actress? Who made her the front runner.</p>

Trick people into believing that the movie is better than it actually is, eg. Roma and The Lighthouse.

Milioti? Did Samberg act by himself?
February 1, 2021 at 1:44 am #1204011932Cristin Milioti not getting nominated is ridiculous. Of course Robbie gets that lazy name check nomination over her. So stupid! They clearly liked the film but the lead actress I guess wasnt famous enough for them.
