<p style=”text-align: center;”>Definitely a big improvement over last week’s episode. The shoutout to Nasir and Esther is the kind of stuff that makes the show more heartwarming than it already is. Rebecca’s show of gratitude to Miguel for dealing with her grief and his own grief of Jack’s death was also a nice nod to the often ignored Miguel.</p>

Seeing Kevin in today’s episode, I was reminded of Randall’s remark about Kevin chasing Jack’s shadow. It was one of the weaker episodes of the show’s run for me. The ending with Randall, Beth and Madison thankfully saved the day. Pumped about the next set of three Pearsons arriving next week. Also, more Milo Ventimiglia is always good.January 29, 2021 at 4:55 am #1204008171

The show returns with a strong episode. The whole Kate storyline is done quite well and Chrissy Metz continues to shine in arguably her best season till now. The parallelism between Randall and Kevin’s phone calls from different times is so This Is Us at this point, but I appreciate how seamlessly the calls seemed woven into the overall narrative.
I wasn’t too invested in the Laurel storyline but tonight’s episode changed that for me and hopefully, it will not underwhelm in the coming episodes.
Mandy Moore and Milo Ventimiglia haven’t got much to do, again.

Kevin and Madison opening up to each other and figuring out how to navigate their relationship going forward was endearing. Justin Hartley’s prowess shone in that scene for me.
The Laurel plot got just a little interesting but still not looking forward to it much.
After all the quarreling in S4, Kate and Toby’s dynamic in this episode seemed like a breath of fresh air.
The role of food seemed interwoven here and there, a nice little touch.
