I think the reason why the Gold Derby interviews are not here is because we all already know about them. This thread is more to shine a light in campaigns we are not necessarily aware of.
So you meant after the finale of The Americans.
What does that even mean? You just picked a random year to demonstrante a coincidence. FX is more well know for its dramas so of course their comedies are no hits like the ones from HBO, for example. Which makes this whole “after The Americans” conversation unnecessary.
Also why The Americans?…[Read more]
After The Americans they had: Atlanta, Pose, Better Things and Baskets. And this year: What We Do in the Shadows. How did they not have been a success?
Also I know Pop isn’t FX, but the conversation here was if voters were watching cable.
Of course the fact that you can pay for cable doesn’t mean you have to pay. That’s kinda obvious. What I meant is that probably the majority of academy members are part of the number of people whom still pay for cable in the US.
Also, FX shows are still a success at the Emmys. Alright that this year they kinda joined Hulu, but what about last…[Read more]
You’re not wrong when you say people don’t wanna pay for cable anymore, but in 2017 186.7 of US residents watched cable, which means a lot of people still have.
I also imagine (but I could be wrong saying this) that the majority of people at the Tv Academy can pay for cable.
If they don’t watch this season of Schitt’s Creek that only will be a problem for Annie Murphy. The rest of the cast are safe.
Well, we don’t know if they will go to the viacom website. If the team behind Schitt’s Creek makes enough ads, maybe. However it’s also available free for who has Pop on their cables, so it’s not that hard to…[Read more]
It’s available at the Pop streaming service for whoever has Pop in their cable subscription. And, of course, available for free for the Academy members at the Viacom website.

Currently on series 3 of 30 Rock.
What a fantastic emmy tape was “Generalissimo” for Alec Baldwin.
I think I’ll start Ugly Betty. Can someone here who watched the show tell me if that’s a good idea?
Those series tapes don’t matter since a long time. Even before 2015. Sopranos, Lost etc would never win if they mattered.
However, when I’m watching old shows I like to see what the crew thought were the best episodes. So imagine someone watching Handmaid’s 10 years from now and reading “Heroic” was one of the “6 better episodes of the season”.…[Read more]
Better Call Saul did perfect. It had to be any of the first five + the final five.
The Crown did as expected but I would have chosen “Dandling Man” instead of “Moondust”. They did what Ozark did last year, went with the WGA nominee, despite not being exactly the best choice.
No “Liars” from Handmaid’s? For crying out loud, what happened here? I…[Read more]

If Sterling K. Brown wins for Maisel he also will join the list.
I finished the second season of this show.
Back in 2008 they got 4 out 5 nominations in the guest actor category. Three of them were underserving (Rip Torn, Steve Buscemi and Tim Conway), the only deserving was Will Arnett. My question is: how on earth did David Schwimmer missed a nomination (and even a win in this terrible category) for 30 Rock?…[Read more]
The Good Place missed “You’ve Changed, Man” which I loved.
Curb should had pick the super funny “The Surprise Party”.
Glad Schitt’s Creek didn’t picked “The Pitch” and went with more episodic/funny choices. They picked perfectly.
Dead to Me and The Kominsky Method submissions don’t matter neither in the current system, neither in the old one.…[Read more]
