I said it was 50/50 the entire time and added her in on nomination day. So, you’re continuing to lie here actually. Not to mention, I said she was campaigning for wins not nominations. Is anyone gonna seriously tell me that she isn’t? I’m also not the one calling artists ‘narcissistic egomaniacs’ for appearing on magazine covers.
I agree that she is campaigning now and that she wasn’t before. But guys this isn’t Stan Twitter let’s stop this fight between Taylor and Gaga and other Taylor fans come onNovember 27, 2020 at 2:10 pm #1203878070
Hey, I have a random but important kinda question. Is calling something pure pop offensive? I was told it was and had no idea because I just thought it meant a pop sound that doesn’t really take inspiration from other genres but I guess the term is bad??? Someone, please respond I’m genuinely curious.November 27, 2020 at 10:04 am #1203877627
there’s no way she isn’t winning AOTY
I love how she doesn’t really have to do that much promo. She is doing a lot less but only the stuff that is truly worth it. I mean the Paul McCartney magazine was a big deal, this new movie is getting amazing reviews, Spotify numbers are going up, and she is likely to reenter the top 10 again for maybe a few more weeks. She is doing basically everything right!!November 26, 2020 at 11:58 pm #1203876919
2020 might be the worst year but it’s a very good year for music overall. Dua, miley, Taylor all released stunning music.
Yes and even though they are all considered pop music, I get such a wide variety of stuff to listen to that is quality. Seriously hopes this carries for a successful album and maybe even a grammy nom or a fewNovember 26, 2020 at 11:18 am #1203875543
I’ve seen many people be excited for most of the albums because they are all good. The way they could have fixed this was to allow Blinding Lights in Record and Abel in the 3 pop categories by replacing Justin. That way it is still a snub but nowhere near as big it is now. I think it would have been amazing and would have been able to satisfy a lot more people.November 26, 2020 at 11:08 am #1203875521
I told 4 days ago that some of you will be leaving this site on 24th and it looks like many disgusting harry and abel stans already left.
No not a whole lot of Abel fans because I feel like he doesn’t have a huge amount of individual fans. For example, I know ELIAS is a big fan of him, but he also likes other artists. Like I am a huge fan of him, but I also like Taylor so I am staying for her. Most Harries have also stayed. Moriahface was really the only one who was trashing other artists and saying Taylor bought her way for the nominations, which isn’t true. They just got so much hate and it has been so much more enjoyable since. I was about ready to block them.November 26, 2020 at 11:04 am #1203875497
She should promote it more, folklore will be back in top 5 this week. I told you all, folklore gonna have longevity, it needs just little bit promotion but Cybercunt always denied. Btw where is he now?
Honestly, someone already said this, but it has really revived Folklore for me, as now I understand the songs more. I get that she wanted to give us an experience and let us think about the songs first, but I’m glad she has now fixed the gaps. And she looks to be doing more promo now!! I still hope she gives us another music video, but that movie was amazing!!! I can see the Folklore album doing better the next few weeks, and with vinyls shipping out, it could stay in the top 10 for awhile longer!!November 25, 2020 at 10:56 pm #1203874138
At the end of the day, viral hate tweets are completely meaningless. Being the first woman to win AOTY 3 times would be historic and solidify Taylor’s legend status. If she wins, I hope she uses her acceptance speech to make a statement about racism within the industry / her privilege as a white woman
I can see her talking about racism. She wouldn’t talk about the privilege of being a woman because all her speeches last year were about the misogyny in the industry, which she experienced a lot of. But I can see addressing racism as a wholeNovember 25, 2020 at 7:48 pm #1203873892
is it possible for exile and rain on me to split votes on bpdg
I mean not really. Like yes every song vote splits, but they are so vastly different. Who do you want to win? Because there isn’t any way they could vote split in the way you think. They are completely different thingsNovember 25, 2020 at 7:45 pm #1203873884
I actually think Dua can win AOTY over Taylor because she checks so many boxes: She, Jhené and Taylor are the only AOTY nominees who also had their albums be nominated in their respective genre category. Of those three, only Dua is the one who also got a ROTY and SOTY nomination, both categories where, I think, Dua is very competitive for a win. Considering how in the past few years, ROTY and SOTY winners usually also went on to win AOTY, Dua would fit into this recent pattern. And since the two biggest AOTY contenders seems to be white women anyways, voters may feel like “Why not give it to the white woman, who hasn’t won it before? Someone we also voted for in ROTY and SOTY” Then there is the tracklist: It’s short, and that’s something ALL recent AOTY winners have in common. You have to go back to 2011 for an AOTY winner with 15+ tracks (on the standard edition), so this is another aspect of recent AOTY winners that Future Nostalgia would fit in and folklore and Chilombo would not And lastly, Dua will have a massive campaign over the next few weeks, which will only help her. Granted, this is all based on recent AOTY wins and patterns and doesn’t mean that it will always be like this. But there are some key things Dua has going for her. Really, the biggest obstacle for FN winning AOTY is its lack of chart success, in the US at least. It’s predicted to not even make it to the top 50 on Billboard’s 2020 year-end-chart. Someone correct me if I’m wrong, but I don’t think any pop album has ever won AOTY without being a huge commercial success (which FN is not), or at least that hasn’t happened in recent decades. Idk, I’m just randomly writing down my thoughts as they come to me, but I really don’t think that folklore is that much ahead of everyone else. I’d say it’s an equal race between it and Future Nostalgia. I don’t see anyone else winning it.
A few thoughts.
1: I don’t think the fact that Cardigan wasn’t nominated in Record means much. That was decided by the BRP. They aren’t the people who decide the winner so I doubt that will mean much as both got all pop nominations and Taylor even got one for beautiful ghosts… lol. I mean songs great but that movie…
2: (Taylor’s previous wins) This is a real possibility and I could see them maybe doing that.
3: (Long Track-list) I mean I’m unsure if this really means much, but it did point out a fact I was unaware about so maybe?. Pretty sure last years winner had 14 though so it’s not that far off.
4: (Heavy Campaign) This can be good but Taylor got an album track nominated and she is starting to campaign (that movie was insanely good and The Album is again at number one on iTunes) but it’s still a plus for Dua
5: (Negative about not being super big) This is true but it has really big singles and it has had multiple. I don’t know if it would affect it as much as you think. Plus Levitating is peaking at just the right time (it is still heavily rising but it will peak at the right time).
Overall I think it is between those two and is much closer than people make it seem
