2022 Daytime Emmy nominations
FreemanGriffin
For me it is impossible to predict the nominations. We never know who has submitted and in which cat
FreemanGriffinAn interesting stat: Best Drama Series and Best Writing have only lined up 13 times in 48 years! The trifecta (Series/Writing/Directing) has only happened four times - Ryan's Hope (1977 and 1979), Days Of Our Lives (2017), and The Young and the Res

MootzicAnyone know if there will be a red carpet tonight? I know it comes on at 9 EST but as this is my first one I’ve seen in person on CBS since the virtual and online ones before those, I thought I’d ask. Are they only televising the actual event?

Lead Actor and Lead Actress 2022 Daytime Emmy Awards
Derrick Eoghan Oisín O'Callaghan
For Lead Actor, I'm gonna say it's between John McCook & James Reynolds. A lot of people are s
Tony RuizWe didn't do a video because without the reels it's very hard to predict. Even if we knew everyone's scenes, it's a lot easier to predict when you actually see the reels in one sitting.

2022 Daytime Emmys
Derrick Eoghan Oisín O'Callaghan
B&B missed Writing & Directing!
FreemanGriffinI simply do not get Mishael Morgan's Best Actress nomination at all. And I really don't like Bryton James's "acting", it puts me to sleep! Y&R is poorly written in my opinion. Oh well, it is what it is. We will get different winners than last y

Double roles on soaps
youngsoapfan
Eileen Davidson as Kristen/Susan/Penelope/Mary Moira/Thomas Banks - Days Judi Evans as Adrienne John
FreemanGriffinFun memories! This thread makes me miss all my favorite New York soaps! (: Anne Heche was a particular favorite, as was Julianne Moore. Ryan's Hope and The Doctors didn't do any dual roles that I can remember...

What’s wrong with the 4 current soaps?
FreemanGriffin
B&B: repetitive dialogue and the same storylines endlessly harm the show. I am only watching for
akh_catI don't think GH is the best soap on the air. Just like the other three it's mediocre at best. It has its flaws too. To be honest none of the soaps on the air is must see tv. Sony and CBS really needs to get rid of Josh Griffith and Anthony Morina. I

2021…Best of the Best ….
FreemanGriffin
Drama Series: General Hospital - during the early part of 2021 GH was ON FIRE with one great episode
soapsarecoolNow that they year is over, I thought it would be nice to revisit this topic... Best & Worst of 2021. Best Storyline: Nixon Falls GH took a HUGE risk in pairing Nina and "Mike" and ended up making magic. It's no secret that I DESPISE the charac

Soap Opera cliches
Sean Phillips
Oh don’t forget multiple personality disorders and repressed memories. Both of these are now consi
Boidiva02I see these as less cliches and more staples of the genre. But I think the biggest offender among soaps is "back from the dead" Honestly even if you see a body they still come back from the dead often!

Not really familiar with a lot of Marland's work, but I know he was responsible for some of the most
soapfandcInterestingly, Doug Marland originally planned to kill off the character of Luke after 6 months (Laura and Scotty were supposed to be the end game couple) but Luke was very popular with audiences and Gloria Monty (the executive producer) and had amaz

2001 Daytime Emmys
Sean Phillips
I was Team Passions this year.
Boidiva02In 2001, I was all about AMC and OLTL. They were my favorites at the time. I liked GH but was finding it a bit stale at that point.

Which soap opera couldn’t you get into?
Frank2803
Loving and the Spin off
syrus80I’ve respected many of the actors that Y&R has had over the years but the show’s pacing was always too slow. I was an ABC kid. One Life To Live (pre-Todd) and Loving are my all time favs. Always loved AMC and pre-Sonny era GH. Days and Pass
