News from Billboard: “The 65th Annual Grammy Awards on Sunday, Feb. 5, will include a star-studded segment celebrating the 50th anniversary of hip-hop. It will include performances by Big Boi, Busta Rhymes with Spliff Star, De La Soul, DJ Drama, DJ Jazzy Jeff, Missy Elliott, Future, GloRilla, Grandmaster Flash, Grandmaster Mele Mel & Scorpio/Ethiopian King, Ice-T, Lil Baby, Lil Wayne, The Lox, Method Man, Nelly, Public Enemy, Queen Latifah, Rahiem, Rakim, RUN-DMC, Salt-N-Pepa and Spinderella, Scarface, Swizz Beatz and Too $hort LL Cool J will introduce the segment, perform and give a dedication to hip-hop. Questlove will serve as producer and musical director, The Roots will provide music and Black Thought will narrate.” On a side note, this is also as much of a confirmation that I need that Kendrick isn’t attending this year’s ceremony.
And here it goes 30 performers…
Why so many people? This is a 30 minutes tribute? I bet that some of these are not gonna even sing a line.

If Adele or Harry sweep the GF and ABBA wins Pop Duo/Group Performance, no Pop categories will be televised. Rock will only be televised if they really want Brandi Carlile to have a televised win. Alternative & Dance/Electronic categories are never televised.
But this year Beyonce is nominated in the dance field. So I think that there is a chance to be televised.

1 Latin fieldthe category will depend on whos gonna show up at the ceremony.

why this list didn’t leaked yet? I mean they are starting rehealsals for the show and they must have a script, schedule of performances, or anything like this. lots of people at this moment have access to this informations. and obviously there is no time to negociate a performance. Whos gonna perform knows that is going to, because there is no time for production.
This is a totally mess… people that is directing and producing this show must be stressed as fu..

if this is true, than we have a lot of people to be announced

Agree. There is no reason to have a category to recognize new talent and then not show any of the nominees. For a lot of them the Grammys are the unique possibility to be seen by the big public.
Agree. Out of 20 performers? there is no way at least one best new artist nominated must be performing

Honestly Samara is a hella talented artist, but I dont think that all of this promotion would mean that she won.
does anyone saw anything about Latto, Omar, Wet Leg and Anitta this week? apparently they’re the only nominated without any mention by the academy or presences in any TV shows

I remember they were still announcing performers 3 days before the show. Karol G was the last one.
So I think they’ll announce filler names during this week and a big name at the end on thursday.
