How is Nicole getting this frontrunner status is beyond me. She doesn’t ressemble Lucille at all, she doesn’t even sound like her. I’m guessing that all these overreactions are just fueled by Amazon’s insane payola, Nicole’s thirstiness and Sorkin’s petiness after his previous film went from frontrunner to emptyhanded oscar bait, so they’re moving every connection they have in the industry.

BTR has no soul with great miscast actors putting SNL parody level performances. It’s like the industry wants to recognize a legend like Lucille, but they didn’t know her that much of forgot about her.

I thought the Academy overawarding The Hurt Locker over Avatar was because they wanted to shame Cameron with his ex-wife. Also, it was that year that every oscar was presented like “the winner is” instead of “the oscar goes to”. I don’t know I felt that that entire award season the industry as a whole was against Cameron for unclear reasons.
