Any chance Sun Children can sneak into the final 5? I’ll admit I am from Iran, so I sure hope it does.
ReplyOctober 20, 2019 at 9:59 am #1203144738I don’t in any way means this to be sarcastic or condescending. This was my thought process:
As far as the main male actors in 3BB,it was Rockwell and Harrelson. I considered Rockwell the lead male actor out of the two. Hence my Chalamet = Rockwell and Harrelson = Hammer thought process.
Rockwell was certainly supporting when you compare her to Frances, but because of the “actor/supporting” actor awards, I think Rockwell should be a lead actor.
*I am in no way trying to start a gender debate. I am just referring to the award titles of “Actor” and “Supporting Actor.”*
ReplyOctober 20, 2019 at 9:38 am #1203144689You are right, I mixed up years. Sam Rockwell did win that year.
I still think Chalamet could have beaten Rockwell that year (just my opinion). How is Rockwell even supporting in 3BB? He is to 3BB what Timothee is to CMBYN, in terms of screen time. Harrelson is the true supporting role.
I wasn’t trying to reinvent the wheel or anything. This was something I had been thinking about for the past few days, and I figured I would post it.
Depending on where you are in the world, its still early. Someone could post something more ridiculous lol.
ReplyOctober 20, 2019 at 8:36 am #1203144627Timothee Chalamet should have been placed in supporting actor for CMBYN.
Hear me out….
This would have obviously been category fraud, but I’m sorry, nowadays, the definitions of lead/supporting roles have been so blurred that you could argue most nominees could be lead or supporting. By the end of awards season, he became such an icon that most people wouldn’t have cared about the fraud.
That year, Mahershala Ali won for Moonlight, but if Timothee was placed in supporting, he would have won.
EDIT: I’m not sure if this opinion is unpopular or not, but I wasn’t sure where else to write it lol
