Kerry Condon for the win!!!
December 17, 2022 at 10:05 am #1205198888Yes, Gleeson’s great in The Banshees of Inisherin…. But, I was actually really moved by Barry Keoghan! Double nomination please 🙏
December 17, 2022 at 9:54 am #1205198872Oh I loveeeeed Farrell in Banshees. The way he effortlessly blended the pathetic, the humour, the charm, the sadness. Wonderful. And I loved the eyebrows work lol it really helped him disappear into the character
Not the greatest performance of the century but I’m rooting for him 🤞

Vicky Krieps in “Corsage” – WINNER
Vicky ❤️ she’s fantastic in Corsage
she’s got a great career ahead of her (thanks PTA 🙏 )
ReplyDecember 7, 2022 at 4:37 pm #1205182247I watched Aftersun… I’m allowed to say that I think it’s overrated?
And Mescal, yeah, he’s good. But now I’m very skeptical of a nomination. But it’s an empty year for this category, so, who knows…
November 26, 2022 at 10:19 am #1205167273I finally watched Tár. Cate is incredible, my words wouldn’t do her justice, so I’m just going to say that. A performance for the ages.
but… is she actually going to win? This film is veeery dense and subtle at the same time.
I know Frances won her third with an unconventional film-performance, but that was a weird year.
November 22, 2022 at 7:20 am #1205163527I finally watched Pearl yesterday: if not a win, Mia really deserves at least a nomination. Breathtaking performance!
October 5, 2022 at 4:33 pm #1205108220I loved the first two seasons, the third was awful and the last two were watchable enough. The acting was fantastic. It was really disappointing (but not surprising) to learn about the reasons why Ruth Wilson left the show. Ironically I think her exit episode was fantastic, it left me devastated.
Maura Tierney really should have won that drama supporting actress Emmy for season 2 in 2016.
Say it louder for the people in the back!

I wonder if we are ever going to have an studio with the balls to go x2 in the Lead categories again. I don’t know about this one but a movie like Carol seemed like a perfect opportunity to me.

September 22, 2022 at 1:04 pm #1205094827Thank God AMC won’t be in charge of her campaign this time lol
ReplySeptember 21, 2022 at 12:05 pm #1205093092They have to regulate category placement imo. Judas and the Black Messiah without Leads, Rooney Mara as Supporting in Carol… it’s getting ridiculous.
September 21, 2022 at 11:56 am #1205093040Michelle (Williams) definitely has strength to fight here: Best Picture contender, overdue narrative, respected by the industry, loved by critics.
But the other Michelle and Cate (and Viola) definitely have the “once in a lifetime” roles. But at the same time we don’t know how strong their movies are going to be through awards season. Interesting race
September 21, 2022 at 11:48 am #1205092998I wonder if she’d rather be nominated in lead than win in supporting.
Actors and their egos…
