Oh I loveeeeed Farrell in Banshees. The way he effortlessly blended the pathetic, the humour, the charm, the sadness. Wonderful. And I loved the eyebrows work lol it really helped him disappear into the character

I finally watched Tár. Cate is incredible, my words wouldn’t do her justice, so I’m just going to say that. A performance for the ages.

but… is she actually going to win? This film is veeery dense and subtle at the same time.

I know Frances won her third with an unconventional film-performance, but that was a weird year.

I loved the first two seasons, the third was awful and the last two were watchable enough. The acting was fantastic. It was really disappointing (but not surprising) to learn about the reasons why Ruth Wilson left the show. Ironically I think her exit episode was fantastic, it left me devastated.

Michelle (Williams) definitely has strength to fight here: Best Picture contender, overdue narrative, respected by the industry, loved by critics.

But the other Michelle and Cate (and Viola) definitely have the “once in a lifetime” roles. But at the same time we don’t know how strong their movies are going to be through awards season. Interesting race
