It also means Abigail Breslin, you know, for the sake of thoroughness.

Main list is missing:
-Julie Taymor in 2002
-Greta Gerwig and Dee Rees in 2017
-Marielle Heller just last year.
-Valerie Ferris co-directed Little Miss Sunshine.
That’s 8 nominations and 1 win (Arkin).
This year could add:
Gene Hackman. There’s a sequel to The French Connection.
Barbra Streisand made Funny Lady.
Was Bells of St Mary’s a sequel to Going my Way or not? Bing Crosby won Actor for Going my Way then got nominated again for Bells.

Well they can actually “all” vote for Lopez and then also for those “good actresses” since they’re in different categories.
Hanks can totally miss on a nomination. That movie came and went and they’ve snubbed him before for films getting many other key noms and even wins. The film’s writers are looking better than Hanks at this point. He is very vulnerable.
What the hell happened to Sandra Oh in Season 2 of Killing Eve? Was she that bad?
Billy Crudup? I can understand actors voting for Carrell, but Crudup? Okay.
Andrew Scott! That’s nice.
Some of these categories seem lazy as fuck, while others seem hard to predict, like Drama Actor. Even Brown can repeat with this lineup. Good to see Harbour s…[Read more]
I think Bale and Egerton are out at the Oscars. Banderas, Pryce, Sandler and Murphy make more sense over there.
For Actress, this looks like a logical repeat for the Oscars. Perhaps Erivo is out in favor of Awkwafina, but this seems like it could be the final lineup.
Supporting Actress, like I mentioned before, could get rid of Kidman and…[Read more]
Yeah. I doubt Johansson gets double nods and Kidman is probably out even with this nod. I think Kidman’s nod just made Robbie and Theron locks because it shows more support for their film, but I wouldn’t really count it as support for Kidman’s actual performance. I agree that Shuzhen is a more likely nominee.
Not that I would hate a Johan…[Read more]
And yet, 3 are nominated, while a fourth (Alda) was at one time predicted, Liotta, Hagerty and Wever have been mentioned a lot for different reasons, even here. Sounds like an ensemble to me.
Not to mention A Star is Born, Million Dollar Baby and Sideways have been nominated before and one won.
Who or what were the stunts in The Irishman? I mean, even when young De Niro moved or walked around he 100% moved and walked like old current De Niro. They didn’t even use a double for that.
They really needed to suck up to Netfix and continue giving noms to Kominski Method. Why?
And the When They See Us complete snub is really ridiculous. Doesn’t make that much sense. Netflix should’ve traded the Kominski nods for this. It’s embarrassing.
Kit Harrington with a random GOT nod makes less sense.
Awards shows are really slapping Sandr…[Read more]
When I first started in GoldDerby almost twenty (God I’m old) years ago I bought all three of Tom’s books and I started downloading several albums while reading the Grammys book. I can’t believe it took me until THIS YEAR! to get into Paul Simon’s Graceland. It is SO GOOD! I bought those books like in 2002 and I went through a lot of music and dis…[Read more]
Didn’t pay attention to the whole episode, but this is a show that I’ll definitely watch forever. I was disappointed because I was, I don’t know, drunk?, and sort of maybe kinda forgot that I wasn’t gonna see Tim and Heidi in this episode. Af if last season never happened. But it’s still a great show and it actually looks like they have a bigger…[Read more]
Ariana Grande was in Hairspray with Harvey Fierstein.
Fierstein was in Mrs Doubtfire with Robin Williams
Williams was with Kristen Dunst in Jumanji
Dunst was with Cliff Robertson in Spiderman
Robertson was in Autumn Leaves with Joan Crawford
Jacob Tremblay and Art Carney (don’t know how I thought of these two)
Saw The Irishman last night. Really good, very fun at times, but also very “how much longer?” some other times. Pacino should be the films only acting nod and he could possibly win. Didn’t think Pesci was nomination worthy regardless of how good he was. DeNiro was outdone by Pacino who at times felt more like the real leading man here.
“And just like they fucked Elizabeth they could do the same to James when they realize he could take that mirrorball from Hannah’s hands. I have no other choice than to believe that ABC wants to keep milking Hannah for ratings because she’s that good of a personality (she is). So she has a nice shot at that mirrorball too.“…[Read more]
Benito Delicias replied to the topic Love or Loath Number 5: Reese Witherspoon in Walk the Line in the forum Movies 2 weeks, 5 days ago
Love. But she was a supporting actress in Walk the Line. And I don’t mind having Rachel Weisz lose to her. Back then I didn’t care for her performance. And that’s how it’s gonna be ‘cause I have no intention of watching Constant Gardener again.
I would’ve supported her win this year for The Favorite, though.
