Adele confirms she will be attending the #GRAMMYs. “Who said I wasn’t going? Whoever started that rumor is a dickhead cause I am going. I would never miss the Grammys!”

ReplyJanuary 27, 2023 at 4:04 am #1205270154I’m torn between Wet Leg, Latto and Muni Long, which have nominations in other categories and have some popularity in the US.
ReplyJanuary 26, 2023 at 3:10 am #1205268115when’s the last time album of the year went to a nominee that wasn’t present? if that’s ever even happened?
I know that George Michael wasnt present when he won AOTY.

ReplyJanuary 20, 2023 at 4:10 am #1205254823Most people nowadays catch up with award shows on social media or Youtube afterwards. That is why social media engagement numbers are important and being used as indicators. Live TV (ratings) is a dying metric just like pure sales. That doesn’t mean award shows are irrelevant. They are just consumed differently
I don’t know if I expressed myself wrong, but I never said that they are irrelevant, it’s just that you can’t make a metric of success taking the ratings into account because it’ll be bad even if Michael Jackson is resurrected on stage. I agree with you for the most part.
January 19, 2023 at 4:50 am #1205252719I’m feeling that the fifth slot is going to be pretty random. As much as I want it to be Mescal, I’m not convinced after that bafta underperformance.
January 18, 2023 at 4:39 am #1205250298“Flowers” – 17,077,686 streams on Spotify global yesterday!
this is so… odd. but good for her
January 18, 2023 at 4:36 am #1205250294It’s true then???? I’ve only heard rumors about it. That would definitely get a nom at least.
Harry never gets involved in collabs, I’ll believe it when I see it.
January 18, 2023 at 3:26 am #1205250250The ratings arent going to be good. Any awards show has seen low numbers in recent years, regardless of who shows up to perform or who wins.

ReplyDecember 22, 2022 at 2:44 am #1205205693I don’t understand Beyoncé’s strategy. She’s not doing anything and at this point the year-end lists are doing more for her than she is. I’m reluctant to put her first, but I also wonder how obvious the backlash would be if Adele won again, however we also know that voters never cared much for backlash. I’m a little lost here.
ReplyDecember 21, 2022 at 4:23 pm #1205205318I really don’t think it makes much difference. If she wins then she will win regardless of the Oscar, same thing if she loses.
ReplyDecember 11, 2022 at 7:24 am #1205187612Brandi Carlile has cross-genre appeal too. Rock, Alternative, Country, Americana, she even has a Pop Solo nomination from last year. She can pull it too, also she’s the safe choice in that line-up. She doesn’t have any controversies, she doesn’t have too many writing credits, she doesn’t have any fatigue.
I agree with that, but the fact that she couldn’t beat Kacey Musgraves makes me put her in 3rd
